This pub restaurant has a huge menu, with selection for everyone – pasta, burgers, salads, sandwiches, seafood, wraps, entrees.For starters, we had plain garlic bread, garlic bread with cheese, cheese dip and bruschetta. Bruschetta was tasty, garlic bread should be just a tad bit toastier.For dinner, the table ordered Chicken Fingers and Fries, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Butter Chicken Poutine, Vegetable Panini, Liver and Onions. We discovered Castle Johns shortly after moving to Newcastle 2 years ago. Initially, we dined indoors, but during the pandemic, we enjoyed many meals on the terrace when weather and COVID restrictions permitted. The restaurant's interior has a rustic charm, which is especially warm and inviting during the colder months. While the front terrace is spacious, it could use some improvements to enhance its appeal and comfort. However, one thing remains consistent - whether dining inside, outside, or for takeout, we have always found the meals to be excellent. Not only are they delicious, but also generously portioned. We highly recommend Castle Johns for great food and service!
