Cave des Silenes is a lovely place to stop for a glass of wine and a simple meal on your way to the Chinon castle. Food is delicious (cheese or charcuterie platters, salads and a very appetizing cafe gourmand!) and you can try an interesting range of beautiful Chinon wines. Don't forget to inquire about the "cave de tuffeau" tour (cave dug in the lical stone), it is one of the most beautiful cave I have ever seen.

We took a break in a nice setting around a plate of charcuterie and a bruschetta. tasting very pleasant wines, very good charcuterie board, good bruschetta but a little too loaded with mushrooms to the detriment of the rest of the products. We left with a few bottles of the owner.
Both the dishes and the bruschettas are really good. The wines can taste you before and choose. You can taste anything separately. Very cozy. We went there twice to eat and taste.
