We'd planned for a vacation with friends to do the Orlando parks and arrived early, so figured we'd have lunch and then move on to check-in at our rooms. On the way to Kissimee from the airport, i did a Google search and Cayo Azul came up. It looked interesting from the reviews and we stopped. That was a lucky decision! The restaurant is very casual and seems to be frequented by regular patrons. While English is spoken, we heard mostly Spanish, which was reassuring to me. We ordered a variety of dishes to satisfy our family's vegetarian and carnivorous diets. The portions were very generous and the flavors were so satisfying. The mofongo (rellenos) and all the rice dishes were delicious. The...

My partner and I visited this restaurant for dinner on a Friday night and it was extremely crowded! There was live music and a long wait, so we decided to come back another time. We returned on a Thursday night when it was much quieter and were seated promptly. We started with empanadillas (the Puerto Rican version of empanadas) as an appetizer and shared the seafood mofongo. The empanadilla was delicious with well-seasoned filling, although I found the dough to be a bit thick for my liking. The seafood mofongo was decent; the fish was well-cooked and nicely charred, but it lacked seasoning and could have benefited from some acidity, like a wedge of lemon. The mofongo had a good texture, but...

Next, we ordered some appetizers and the calamari was the worst I’ve ever had. It was like chewing gum, reminiscent of bubble gum, and tasted like salty water mixed with flour—strike 2. The main courses were no better. The mofongo (mashed green plantain) was served cold and oddly sweet, while the conch (carrucho) was bitter and presented in a tall coffee cup from Dollar Tree, which was far from fancy. The rest of the food was served on a melamine plate. To top it off, we ended up spending nearly $100 for lunch for two, without any alcoholic beverages. My advice? Look for a different place to eat besides Cayo Azul. Book a table now

We had to wait 15 minutes for the menu because there was some confusion about who would be serving us. After that, we waited an additional 45 minutes for our two dishes, even though the restaurant wasn't full. The service was really disappointing. The parrillada was terrible; the chicken was very dry and the meat was burnt. The paella lacked both quantity and flavor. As for the drinks, the piña colada was good, but the mango drink tasted artificial and not like real mango. On a positive note, the decorations were nice. Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant.

**Dining Experience** **Meal Type:** Dinner **Price per Person:** $100+ **Food:** 3/5 The food was decent, but it didn't quite meet expectations for the price point. **Service:** 2/5 The service was lacking. The staff seemed inattentive and not very responsive, which detracted from the overall experience. **Atmosphere:** 3/5 The atmosphere was average—nothing particularly memorable, but not off-putting either. Overall, while the meal had its moments, I believe there is room for improvement in both the service and food quality.

I was recommended this place by my Puerto Rican barber, who assured me that they serve excellent authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, and he was absolutely right. The food was fantastic, and the woman who took my to-go order was very friendly, as were the other staff members. There was a lively crowd enjoying their meals and cocktails, and a live band played some great music. My limited Spanish didn't seem to be a problem at all. I can't wait to try more items from the menu and possibly relax with a cocktail or two next time!

12 minute wait for drinks... 29 minute wait for two appetizers... 62 minutes later... Food ordered for table of four not on the table. No refills on drinks or water during the wait. Paid $72 for drinks and appetizers and left. Cayo Azul lacks competent restaurant manager and chef. Don't be in a hurry if you decide to eat at this restaurant. We went to Pollo Tropical and ate dinner for $65. Book a table now

I visit every Friday afternoon with my husband, and we always have a wonderful time! The restaurant is very safe, clean, and comfortable. Denisse and the rest of the staff provide us with excellent service and amazing food! I rate it as follows: Service: Takeout, Meal type: Dinner, Price per person: $50–$100.
