My wife and I recently bought a frozen Shepherd's Pie from our local Market Basket, and we had high hopes given the price. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed; it was easily one of the worst, if not the worst, Shepherd's Pies we've ever had. While the pie did have a decent amount of filling, it was incredibly dry and completely lacked flavor. The meat had a strange mushy texture, and the corn was still crunchy. We cooked the pie for 100 minutes to reach the recommended internal temperature of 170 degrees in the center, and then we had to broil it for an additional 2 minutes just to get some browning on top. Their pie shop is Centerville is fantastic and offers tasty pies but my review is for the their frozen Shepard's pie I got from stop and shop. These other reviews seem aggressive regarding the frozen pies, I thought it was very tasty, my only suggestion is that it could use another filling with the beef and corn, maybe some carrots or peas? Maybe add both! I ended up cooking some peas on the side and just added it to my pie. Crust was very good. A bit pricey but it's no more expensive than Marie Callenders pies at the store and IMO much tastier. Cheers.
I ordered a very expensive 'Oprah 's Favorite Chicken Pie in plenty of time for Christmas to be delivered on the 23rd of December, and it was rescheduled for arrival on January 18th! How does this help people plan a gourmet meal when the delivery is so subjective? I was offered an unacceptable 25% off towards my next order over $100. No way does this make up for not receiving my order on time. I have contacted the company asking for a refund, no answer. A stellar poor performance.
I have been ordering the Shepard pie on a regular basis and I've never been disappointed. On my last order there was an issue with my address and when I spoke with the Centerville pie people it was like talking with a neighbor. My shipment arrived within 2 days. It's always packed with dry ice and frozen solid. It's totally worth the price to have it shipped. Thank you Oprah and Centervlille pie company!

I bought 3 boxes of the mini’s. Big mistake!! I’m an old born and bred southern/country Gal and these were not good!! Dry, tasteless, and chicken was tough!! I tried 3 of the mini’s trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but it was all i could do to stomach them. Threw the rest in trash. The regular pie maybe better but I will never know. I will go back to the lady that makes them in my area.
I ordered two pies from Centerville pies and was anticipating that they would be good, seeing even Oprah likes them, but I was so wrong. This evening I baked the pie as directed, but it was primarily dark meat and very chewy. I feel too embarrassed to let my family know what I paid for them because I purchased them from the Gold belly and will never use their site again because the pie was awful.
The chicken pot pie that we bought frozen at Market Basket was inedible.Baked as directed, the bottom crust was raw, and the top crust was half cooked. Several giant chunks of chicken were tough and dry and wouldn’t even cut with a knife. Four slices of carrot throughout the pie. No flavor at all.
Mrs. Buckley and I had a chicken pie tonight, and it was awesome! We cooked it a little over 90 minutes, perfect! Our oven is slow! Great crust, gravy, and crust! What a great philosophy the company has!

Pie crust should be savory when you put it with chicken or spinach or meat. The crust is oddly sweet and after several tries it is now a big “no more” for me! Just wrong in my humble opinion.
