We were in Aberystwyth Christmas eve shopping and decided to have fish and chips for lunch for a change . We called into the Central fish bar we had never been in here before, It was very clean inside ,Service was very good and the staff were very friendly .We ordered pies and chips to take out and didn't have to wait long .The food was put in cardboard containers and the wrapped in paper . The chips were lovely, freshly cooked and has a slight crispy coating to them.. Our bill for 2 pies 2 portions of small chips came to just over £11..The chip portions were a good size so no wastage. .Would definitely call in here again .
We chose this restaurant because it was close to the hotel and we we fancied a chippy tea. Little did we have what we would have in store! The chip shop/restaurant has a vast menu including salmon and trout. We ordered haddock and cod and chips and drinks to eat in. Food was all freshly cooked. When it arrived served by a polite young man we tried it and our meals were excellent. The batter was light and crispy. Don't be put off by the rather old fashioned look of the place it's more traditional. We loved its good quality no nonsense food. Well done.
Definitely the best chips in Ceredigion, not just Aberystwyth, and all round excellent fish chips . It’s not a well appointed upscale restaurant, has more of a very comfortable cafe feel, but it is 100% good honest fayre served by friendly and professional owners at a very reasonable price . It’s just a five minute walk to the seafront and the Castle so if you want great Fish Chips to takeaway and eat in the fresh air this is definitely the place . Fantastic food at the right price to eat in or takeaway, highly recommended .
We turned up at 6.30pm and got to order our food, 5 minutes later. Unfortunately, our order didn't arrive until way gone 7pm. The food ordering system is farcical and needs changing. Even though we should should have been served second, based on the queue, 8 other people got their food, before we got ours. They don't do sachets of any sauces, including tomato ketchup, mayonnaise or tartare sauce. The 3 people behind the counter don't appear to get on with other either. The only positive was the food was good.

Called here today 5th aug ,weather was pretty miserable ,and as we had enjoyed a meal from there previously we thought we would try it again .It was quite busy but we were served pretty swiftly and didn't have to wait for our orders ,pies were nice and hot and not over cooked and the chips were freshly cooked in front of us and they were hot and delicious too .Staff are very friendly .
Absolutely disgusting the chips half cooked and just warm chicken over cooked burnt and the curry sauce stone cold. Waste of money seeing as it cost us over £40. This is the second time of this happening there within the last few weeks. Never go there again
On the outskirts of the main strip. Food made freshly to order. Not greasy like lots of places. Food was piping hot. Fairly priced. The only thing that slightly let it down was that it’s a bit run down inside. It wouldn’t put me off going again!
this chippy is the only one we visit on a day out in aberystwyth,we have been coming here for years food always first class the owner is a nice chap very friendly as is the staff we wouldnt go anywhere else.
