Booked Sunday lunch well in advance for what we thought would be a guaranteed good experience for mum’s 80th birthday, given this place’s reputation. Arrived on time, manager po-faced, behaved as if they were doing us a favour having us. No acknowledgement of the special birthday. Table was not ready, they made no attempt to help us move chairs so we could sit and wait. We waited ages for our table to be cleared and prepared. Starters arrived quickly but we waited another 40 minutes for our mains, so those of us who hadn’t had a starter were very hungry indeed. No bread rolls available to accompany the soup “because it’s a Sunday”. Had to ask for everything, sauces, correct cutlery, drinks....
Soft warm bread with the finest thin crust to start then delicious ham and chicken terrine , the perfect texture and seasoning ccompanied by delicate pickles and chutney. Pork belly was like a savoury version of a creme brulee so meltingly soft underneath the thinnest , crispiest crackling . Loved the little blackpudding wafer like spheres (earthy, crumbly bites like a savoury Ferrero rocher) Sorry for all the 'sweet ' references ahead of dessert. Rhubarb cheesecake was a heavenly blend of swee, tart, cruchy and soft. All served at the perfect intervals in a relaxed stmosphere by friendly knowledgeable staff. It doesn't miss!! We have visited several times but tonight was my mum's first time. It was a belated Christmas present. From start to finish the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was the star of the show! All 3 of us loved each of our courses each having something different. You get what you pay for, delicious food, cooked perfectly! Couldn't ask for a nicer meal. Easily on par with a few Michelin starred restaurants I have visited.
Another delicious meal at the award winning Chadwicks in Maltby. The Brill was superb, so light with a beautiful tasting sauce accompanied by seasonal vegetables. I highly recommend Chadwick’s Inn. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. The cuisine is outstanding, especially their cod dishes and confit duck. The staff is always professional and provides excellent customer service. My wife and I have dined here multiple times and have never been let down.
We had the most beautiful meal on Valentine’s Day at Chadwicks. Service was exceptional and the food was as delicious as always. Chadwicks Inn Maltby never disappoints! 5 star and would always recommend.
