We loved the history we read about this restaurant online and decided to give it a try. For starters, the service of our waitress was excellent. She was very attentive and answered all of our questions patiently and kindly. We had four teenagers with us and I feel like that is why we were sat on the quieter side of the restaurant, which was nice. The kids were disappointed when we gave them all money to make jukebox selections because the sound is turned completely down on it and you cannot hear any of the selections you make. My wife and I ate at Chair 5 for our first night in Girdwood. We got the crab cakes as an appetizer, I had the fish and chips, and my wife ordered the Alaskan wild game burger. Amy was our waitress and she did a wonderful job! She recommended both things we ordered and was very quick and polite. The crab cakes had a ton of flavor, however I feel for the price you should get three instead of two. The fish and chips were very good. I am not the biggest beer battered fan, but the batter had tons of flavor and was crispy. My wife's burger was very good and was flavorful. The atmosphere was very relaxed and comfortable. Overall Chair 5 is a very good place and we would go back!
Some good and bad with our visit. Long wait to get seated, but this was expected as we were there at the height of summer tourist season. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very good. Service was just okay as they seemed to be very short staffed. The food was probably the biggest disappointment of the evening. They were out of many dishes..all crab dishes, one type of fish, the drink i wanted, and a couple of the appetizers. We went safe with the fried halibut only to discover when we got our meal that they were out of tartar sauce as well. We ended up paying a premium price for a mediocre dinner with good atmosphere.
Stopped in to just have a drink and find out about Girwood. Bartender was not happy she was there, I think she smiled twice while we were there, once when another employee was talking to her and when she saw me watch her take a big of her lunch which was in front of under the bar. My recommendation is to have your bartender friendly to everyone and dress as if she had just rolled out of bed.

I ordered everything; pizza, steak, pasta, wings, fish and chips....all of it was fantastic. Props to the Chair 5 kitchen, good on ya. To anyone looking for a place,I'll tell you where. Someplace warm. A place where the beer flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano, Chair 5.
not a huge fan of this place. Food was really lacking salt. The Philly cheese steak is made real weird here .. the cheese was on the bread not the meat? Overall everything was a little bland. Our server was nice but the service wasn’t too good seemed like it was out of her control too (kitchen delays, even w the sodas)
Beat local spot to stop for a great bite! Pizza is amazing!! Atmosphere is cool and super chill, pool table and old juke box! Enjoy tour food and other patrons, most are locals!! That says it all! ?
The service here is great - always friendly and quick, so five stars for that!

First off the service was excellent so 5 stars for the service but this place is way too expensive for what it is a family restaurant/pub.
One of the only Alyeska-area restaurants open in the pre-ski season but we don't mind.
