I find it strange that this restaurant is ranked out of restaurants in Valberg. This suggests that it is a top place to go for a good dining experience in this winter and summer mountain resort. It is not that simple. Let me...put the record straight: this is quite a good mountain restaurant and is fine if all you want is to snack sitting in the sun on a large terrace after a morning's skiing (or, for non-skiers, after an enjoyable trip up the chairlift – accessible to non-skiers). But if you are looking for a dining experience, this is not the place to go. Certainly the staff were friendly and welcoming (it was off-season when I was here, so relatively quiet) but the experience is more snac...
We skied in Valberg in March Conditions were pretty bad. Violent winds and lots of snow in the face so finding this restaurant was a God send. The staff were very welcoming. The food was very reasonably priced and the soup was lovely. Soup...and hunk of bread for euros is pretty good by mountain standards. Waffles (goffres) were excellent with warm Nutella mmmm. They have a range of pizzas, crepes, waffles, but also more serious dishes. All in all, an excellent place for coffee/hot chocolate/lunch
This restaurant is located at the top of two ski lifts on the slopes in Valberg. It has some very nice views from the terrace I had the Assiette de Montage which was a very large plate of cheese, charcuturie, pickles and bread for Good value for a mountain restaurant and the quality was reasonable (although I've had similar dishes of better quality in some Italian mountain restaurants). Staff were friendlier than average for such places. Coffee was very good.
