The Charcoal Oven is unique. It 's been there for almost 100 years and has been in the Georgouses family for 75 of those. The menu is still in the script of Phil, whose daughter Marie now runs the shop with her husband. Do expect: terrific food, proudly and lovingly prepared; conversation with Marie; and a true supper club atmosphere. Don 't expect: craft cocktails ; ferns; buzz; modern décor. It 's charming and historic and I wouldn 't change a thing.
Have wanted to come to this place forever wanted to see what was behind the neon sign! It's very nice inside. There is a decent selection of entrees, and you get a free appetizer of pasticio, but you are not able to choose your vegetable or side we received a plate of home cooked chips and also corn and peas. Service was not attentive. Also felt it was a little pricey for what we got. Still, worth a try!
that is a fun throw back restaurant. the staff is attentive and friendly and eating is delicious. I had the sampi that was good, but nothing special. the appetizer, kartoffels and vegetables were good. the salat is literally some pieces iceberg salat, dressing was good. two people had the Greek huh and one had the baked chicken. They all loved her and I must admit, I was a little jealous: we come back!
charcoal ofen is an institution with generous portions, stands that seem suitable for a dean martin, franc sinatra time of comfort, and traditions of service and tariff. it is a great guy we also see groups of women. with her man the daughter of the deceased greener continues the traditions. I love this restaurant. Very old school in the best way, with delicious food, and charming service by the second generation family owners. I used to live closer and went more often, but now when I do go it is always worth the extra travel time.
eating was terrible and didn't like to be served kartoffel chips as my kartoffel and a little green salad with nothing else than salad
