On our first day we decided to take drinks in the garden and having ordered them we sat down to wait their arrival...and waited and waited and after 45 minutes they turned up. Likewise when we order tea in the room it took nearly an hour for someone to turn up. We turned up for dinner promptly and were treated with distain by the staff, it was as if we were unwanted. At the end of dinner, which was very good, we asked for coffee and then waited and waited and gave up they still turned up on the bill though! I thought through our stay and wondered if we had done anything to cause upset but couldn't think of a thing. So a bad attitude, a shabby chateau but a good dinner, however, not worth the...
Superb and magnificent castle and it brings back good memories for me since I went to the school which is located right next to the castle and it was in the 80s 90s of course I know a few students who were at the school with me. At the time there was a squash court and a tennis court right next to the castle. Obviously inside the castle there are superb tapestry paintings but I have no memory if the castle inside can be visited
Everything is perfect... Large room, well heated, ceiling of 4 meters high, comfortable bed, very pleasant bathroom, luggage help, quiet and smiling welcome, beautiful restaurant room, 40 euros meal, superb presentation, gourmet tasters, delicious everything is home, tasty wine. Only reproaches... no ghost.
Despite the beauty of the architecture, one feels the financial burden of renovating and maintaining such a building. So modern comfort is hardly available. But happy to have stayed there to encourage staff to keep that monument alive.
