It was a dark and stormy night when the 3 of us went here on the last Thursday in November. In fact, if we hadn't booked the weekend before we wouldn't have gone out anywhere that night, but Thursday is the night this restaurant has the fish buffet which had been recommended to us by a friend. We were the first people to arrive, just before 8pm and hoped we would not be the only people brave enough to go out that night, because inside the building it is pleasantly palatial, with lovely simple decor, barrel arched roofs and a piano in one corner. We were 8 friends, who lunched at the chateau. Aperitifs in the courtyard, followed by a 3-course lunch. The menu was well thought out: salad with goat’s cheese or grilled tuna followed by haddock or filet mignon and a lovely lemon icecream to end a delicious meal. The waitress was smiling and very efficient. All in all a good experience.

The chateau has had changes in management over the years. I have eaten there a few times before with varying experience. The current management are by far the best. I had the Thursday evening seafood buffet.
