Every Waffle House I 've ever been to has been cleaner and more welcoming than this establishment. I was recently at one of these restaurants in Missouri and loved it. So I figured to take my daughter to this one for dinner. We were told there was a 20 minute wait, no problem. The hostess asked for my name and said they would call me when a take was ready. Great! Then it started getting pretty busy, and I began noticing folks being seated that arrived much later than we did. Then I noticed they were asking for phone numbers and telling people they would receive a text when the tables were ready. Oh boy. I use to live in Bolingbrook and Cheddar’s was our go to restaurant. We moved and I remember they shut down for a while to remodel. So I am basing my experience now verse last time. I got the chicken dijion with mushrooms. Red beans and rice with coleslaw. I also go carrot cake and croissant. Chicken was okay. I remember it tasting better. Maybe a different recipe. The red beans and rice did not taste how I remember. Maybe using a different type of rice. I remember it use to be spicy. Not much flavor now. Coleslaw okay. Not much flavor. I personally love their spinach dip! I got it every night I was here visiting for work. Wish they had more Chicago beer on tap, such as Goose Island or something similar. The bartenders were amazing. Very friendly waiting staff! Highly recommend! Yes, my food was half eaten when I remembered to grab a picture.
