I have mixed feelings about this place. Some of the food is amazing. Some is just blah. Often the service is polished and wonderful. Sometimes the service misses. Shortly after being seated, you are served bread. The bread is house made and includes a delicious Alsatian cottage cheese. This is great on the garlic bread. The bread also comes with butter ice cold and rock hard butter. What restaurant of this caliber serves cold butter? Why do they hate their diners so much? When it comes to appetizers, my favorites have been the Roquefort tart and the beef cheeks. The beef cheeks are served in an adorable mini le Creuset pot, making them all the more charming. Despite this star rating, not everything was perfect. We showed up for our dinner reservations without knowing much about the restaurant. You don't need to speak French to order. Most of the staff does not. Despite a very thick accent our waiter did not speak French, which was a bit disappointing. But the restaurant would only be slightly out of place in the Alsace region. (Only because it's been renovated to look the style as opposed to being constructed in that European style The restaurant was recommended to me by a chef friend, saying the food is a taste of the old world French. we had a wonderful and elegant dinner at the l’auberge chez francois. everything was delicious with beautiful presentation. our waiters were attentive and friendly. we enjoyed a decadent evening. Note: we have no problems with the dresscode, but everyone was very nicely dressed, including most men in jacken. definitiw no casual restaurant that should be obvious in view of the price and menu.
excellent as usual. attentive service without being overly served. my favorite dish is the bark bouruignon (burgundy), which is just a wine-based bark stew. classic French food and extensive wine list from all regions. always with fresh salads and vegetables. the mixed drinks are quite good and if it is cold, they also have hot drinks. three days later I still think how wonderful my meal was. everyone I enjoyed with all his decisions. the price associated with the main dish plus appetizer, salat and dessert extended my opportunity to taste dishes that I normally did not order. I want to go back.
My brother treated us to our Anniversary Meal and Valentine’s Day… The service snd food could not be compared with my brother’s descriptions; superb and sublime at the same time!
My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here. It was a great dining experience. Staff, drinks, food and dessert were on point. Everything was absolutely delicious.
