We travelled from Canada to visit friends in Aix-les-Bains, they took us to this fine restaurant. We received awesome service and excellent food. We ordered the fish special and is was so good. The chefs take special care in preparing the food!The restaurant is family owned, the owners own the wine store and the deli across the street. You have an excellent choice of wines, cheese, fresh fish and meat to choose from.It is a very unique restaurant, beautifully decorated with 2 levels. You can dine down or upstairs.We are so glad we visited this place! It represents France and provides a unique dining experience!
My friend and I had dinner at Chez les copains on the recommendation of our guest house owner. Brilliant idea!!!! Food was a delight, I am actually gutted I was too full to have dessert, one day ;)We shared the most exquisite starter (well it was actually a main but it sounded to good to be missed): la boite chaude gratinee au four i.e. a baked vacherin (cheese) with cured meat & potatoes. My oh my!!!!I then went for the steack tartare (probably the best I've ever had) and my friend went for a slow cooked lamb. The creamy palenta is a killer as well.I can't praise that place enough, just go!
We arrived absolutely starving in Aix-les-Bains in the early evening, rainy and cold. Down the street from our hotel we found Chez les Copains. We were super hungry and with no great expectations, we sat down in this cosy warm, welcoming place. Wine list was impressive and the menu offered sufficient options for Susie and I. Really enjoyed the eating experience here, the service was attentive also and cost was reasonable. I'll certainly eat here again.
Our first night in Aix les Bains and we found Chez les Copains. The tartare with nori and line superb. Salad would have benefitted from a goodcwash but tasty. The pig cheeks with beautifully cooked vegetables highly recommended. We rounded it off with a cafe gourmand same high quality. Lovely dry rose with it all from the Pays d'Oc. Very good value.

Tucked in a small street in Aix-Les-Bains is Chez Les Copains. The food was delightful and the wine list extensive. However do not go there around 1:00PM. We were in competition with the personnel having their lunch…we lost! Still a restaurant worth stopping by.
A small and outwardly rustic spot in the heart of the old town. Looks, and is, atmospheric. However, the food is only average, quite highly priced, and limited in choice. A dismayingly short wine list, very expensive with no house wine or carafe wines.
I loved this restaurant but the chef changed - so now it is just one of my favourites. A great meal will always be enjoyed amongst its checkered tabled. The wine list is extensive - do not be shy and ask for help.
Small restaurant with a very nice atmosphere, fantastic food, loved the melt-in-your-mouth lamb with subtle Tandoori spices and the special Iberian pork, both with fresh vegetables. Would come again!

Lovely naturalness with great food and fantastic wine selection (seems to be linked to the Vintage wine bar across the road for a wide choice of wine).
