"Stumbled across this wonderful cafe cycling along the canal. Fantastic friendly welcome. Delicious set lunch with amazing pate. Cheese plate too generous. Eccentric decor (motorcycles, petrol pumps) and staff couldn’t be more helpful."

It's not often or easy to rate a budget restaurant with an Excellent rating, but Chez Lucotte well deserves it. No Michelin stars here but every box is ticked. A warm welcome, great authentic home cooking cuisine, charming ambience and unbeatable value where else will you find 4 courses for 16.50 including a carafe of wine and no one ever leaves here still feeling hungry. Little wonder this place is packed every day and locals for miles around know it, so if you want to eat here, be sure to book or risk being disappointed. Always a pleasure to dine here when cruising through the region. A la prochaine....Merci.

This was one of the highlights of our recent six week tour of France (during which we are lunch out most days!). Not haute cuisine but good honest local cooking. Very good food and very friendly service - but be prepared to mix it with the locals. It's the sort of place the UK needs in spades. The decor is motor-sport orientated and the area is great for walking and cycling along the Canal de Bourgogne. In fact, what a great place for lunch as you cycle past!

Great local vibe. Decor focused on motorbikes, (which even though I’m not into, was charming and fun). Lovely staff, with a nice informality to make you feel at home. Four course menu so you won’t need another meal that day. Everything was really fresh. The ingredients were simple, delicious and full of flavour without needing masses of embellishment. The cheese platter was particularly good.

Family run, local fare, simple but nice food with a changing daily set menu. Unbeatable value 15 euros for 3 courses and entertaining owners ensure you'll enjoy mixing with the locals who all flock to this restaurant for lunch so be sure to book. Lunchtimes only.
