Basically, Chez Melo is Carmelo’s (Italian, from Calabria) rather messy kitchen with a handful of bar seats placed around it. You can help yourself to beers and soda from a fridge near the door. And food is served in a pizza box, paper napkin, or plastic plate. Yet the quality of both the pizzas and pastas is absolutely amazing. We were with five people, managed to get enough seats, and before we could decide what to order Melo suggested making two pizzas (his oven can’t handle more at once), followed by freshly made pasta of the day (zucchini). Both the pizzas and the pasta were simply great, and we could have seconds from the pasta if we were still hungry. All of this set us back 55 euros,...
