It's worth noting that there are not many options in Peri. It's a small town in rural Corsica, so you take what you can get. However, Chez Seraphin stood out as excellent. The food was relatively simple a basic salad, lamb, roasted potatoes, and...cheese but good. The potatoes stood out in particular. The setting is lovely, high in the hills of Corse-de-Sud. The price is unbeatable at €20 per person for all that plus wine and a small digestif. we found this restaurant by chance. we were in tavera, the 3 villages further along the mountain and were on the way to home the late afternoon. we thought we were a beer, but it wasn't open. we thought we were going back another time to eat something, but when I saw on the internet to find out how it was like there was nothing. we had a chance and we just turned up. the best decision we all make on vacation. the 6 courses veg suppe, courgette flowers, cannelloni, slowly boiled lamb, 6 species of cheese and dessert) plus 2 bottles of wine were a fixed price of §55 . all cubed in front of the place and even in a thunderstorm without on price. that was the best meal we had in 2 weeks in Corsic...
all 6 courses were incredible, this is really a must-do! in combination with the wonderful service and the beautiful environment with views of the landscape and hills, this is a great culinary experience. to begin we had a charcuterie board, followed by tempura courgette flowers and then cheese cannelloni. the main dish of lamb and brat potatoes were cooked to perfection. then followed a large selection of cheese and then several options for desserts. I chose the chestnut cake that was good to enjoy before the end with coffee. Besides, we got a selection of 2 weeps. We saw a travel programme in February Ottolenghi's Mediterranean Escape it featured this restaurant and it's owner and we looked at each other and said............ we need to go there ! We were not disappointed. Simple, local home grown excellent food and local...wine cooked with love by Monique. 6 Courses with aperitif, 2 litres of wine and digestive for Euro50 per person. Excellent. Make the effort to get there. You have to book as (a) it will be busy in the summer but (b) they cook for specific numbers. We came for dinner on a Saturday night, the place was fully booked, the interior matches very well with the surrounding landscape of this cute mountain village. They offered a meal of 5 courses, everyone for itself was outstanding and authentic including the traditional food....The service was very nice, too. We would always come again and take the little drive up here its definitely worth it!!!
this typical restaurant offers a single all inclusive menu with 3 appetizers, smiling with amazing kartoffels and an salad as main dish, a large selection at desserts. wine and coffee tea is included for 55€. if you're hungry, that's the best place for you. there is a beautiful terrace. Come here, you will love it.
I spent a lot of time with seraphin and monique up there in peri. I'm like a spirit of pastness. I traveled all over the world and not better than that. honestly, to eat real, real people. enjoy the menu, enjoy it all in. miss my Corsican friends.
