You'll find many quality restaurants in the Brotteaux area of Lyon, but this is the restaurant my partner and I keep coming back to on a fairly regular basis. Not only is Chez Song the best Chinese restaurant in Lyon in my opinion: They are one of the consistently best that you will find in Brotteaux. I am even hesitant to share this review because as another reviewer stated, it is a hidden gem. But I couldn't understand the negative reviews because I have NEVER had a bad meal here. I've always enjoyed everything I've ordered. If you really like spicy food, I recommend the spicy fried chicken with a size of rice or cold sesame noodles. as a Chinese from Beijing, I always get disappointed (sometimes angry) when visiting Chinese restaurants in Europe. Living in Lyon 4 years, have visited most Chinese restaurants here, i have to say they have the best gong bao chicken, spicy beef, and even chao ping! Very good cooking, good taste, close to original taste in China. I will go back for sure! highly recommend if you like real Chinese food.
An authentic restaurant frequented by the local immigrant community, which is always a reliable promise. The place is popular. Delicious and spicy dishes. Chicken with stratified pancakes is a slaughter. No small prices, but this is justified by the quality of the plate. Perfect house and service always smiling, despite an unusual expectation. A great discovery for us.
I went to Song for dinner and had a good time. The welcome is very pleasant, the very nice waitress and the dishes are good (I loved the nems, the fried ravioli or the value). Despite a very clean restaurant and the fact that we were positioned on the floor, my hair and clothes felt frying (when the smell was not perceptible at the entrance of the restaurant).

a pleasant surprise, entered by chance, the restaurant is small, the service is simple and efficient, pleasant. the dishes seem all homemade, very fresh, goutu and light not super spicy or strong the parts are golden, and the very reasonable price, see very low considering the portions without hesitation the best I could test I'll go back.
A very good restaurant be it the level of food or the level of reception, everything is nickel. In the dishes I ordered, there's only huntun and tofu that are less good than I do. (I cook bcp if you don't know how to make these two dishes. You can order it is good qd mm). Everything else is as in China it is authentic.!!!
Surprised at the negative reviews...the night we went, the server was attentive and friendly, even though we don't speak French. We absolutely LOVED our food! Very flavorful and a lot of food for the price paid. I am a vegetarian, and they have a lot of dishes to choose from! Would highly recommend!!
Beware of the rude manager who was working on the night of our visit to Chez Song. He publicly humiliated one of the servers after an apparent mix-up with a customer's meal order. The tense atmosphere and nasty experience left a bitter taste in my mouth. Fine dining it ain't.
