I began dining at Chicken King years ago when they first opened, and the food was absolutely fantastic. I used to go there for lunch about four times a week during workdays. However, after George left, things started to decline. Each time I ordered chicken, it would arrive soggy and undercooked. I even gave the ribs another shot under the new management, but they were also undercooked! To make matters worse, they got rid of the catfish that my friends and I used to enjoy so much. I decided to give it another try last week, but unfortunately, the chicken was soggy and undercooked once again. It was sticky and unappetizing! It’s such a disappointment because this used to be my favorite chicken...
The chicken was excellent, and everything was prepared fresh to order. The staff was friendly, though the wait was quite long, which seemed to be a result of understaffing—a common issue these days. I would like to see a wider variety of side dishes offered, as they currently only have potatoes, coleslaw, and onion rings, and they were out of the latter when I visited. I also recommend that you avoid calling in your order, as they are too busy to answer the phones with their current staffing levels.
First time ordering a chicken wing half ribs combo as a takeout and wasn't dissapointed.Like the chicken wings and ribs better than Mr. Chicken in Livonia, even though Mr. Chicken isn't bad.Onion rings and French fries were good with great portions too.I read some bad reviews and was a little bit worried but glad I gave it a shot.Would probably order from here again.
I was informed that the wait would be 15 minutes, but I ended up waiting 45 because the staff were too busy chatting. The mushrooms in my dish were overcooked, but the sandwich I had was actually quite good.

For a short wait you get your chicken fresh and hot, crispy and well seasoned. Friendly, clean, well run, consistent.
