We have used Chilli and Spice for many years and have seen a recent decline in the taste and quality of food. We ordered our usual takeout which could not be done on the terrible online service as certain dishes are missing and prices don't add up correctly and it adds extra 50p here and there so CHECK when using this service. We phoned our order through and were surprised at the new cost of our takeout. Once our order was delivered we were not given a paper copy of the receipt from the delivery driver, who said he was not allowed to give it to us and there should be one in the bag, there wasn't. Having felt the benefit of Fetcham Tandoori over nearly 3 decades of living in Fetcham, we were looking forward to trying our first new Indian restaurant on moving to Dorking. What a disappointment Chilli and Spice was. We ordered a takeaway. At least delivery was on time, but little else to recommend. Unappetising presentation, unless you like mush. mediocre flavours and little to recommend to friends. We will not be trying again. Hopefully rival restaurants will fit the bill.
Wrote to ask about content of food but never got a reply. As many such outlets now use substitute meats especially chicken like compounds which may be only 51% real chicken, do we know what we are eating? My stomach illness following last week's meal could have been the result of unwitting consumption of soya to which I am strongly intolerant. Many will be fine of course. Can't be certain but the chicken pieces were unusually large and cube shaped. Do be careful.
I hadn't used this restaurant for many years and didn't know what to expect. Because of Covid lockdown this had to be a takeaway. The order was ready within 5 minutes of arriving. The food was hot (not cold! and of a very acceptable standard. I would not hesitate to use them again and would recommend them. Book a table now
I am really concerned that when the driver delivered our order he complained about where we lived and told us that this restaurant will not deliver to us again. I am not sure why he was so rude to us. Very upset will not use this restaurant again.
Best curry house in Dorking! Ordered many takeaways from Chilli Spice. Delivery speed up to Highacre always fast and food always fantastic. Recommend vindaloo or naga chicken if you like heat! Lamb biryani and garlic rice are also superb
Brilliant to have Chilli and Spice back after lockdown. Great food (as always), well organised and super friendly. They made us feel safe and comfortable given the current circumstances. Highly recommend! Kevin family.
Worst curry. Cold. Chicken very dry, inedible. Tasted like it was Left by someone else. Veg samosas only consisted of potato. Called to complain and phone out down. Will never eat from there again Book a table now
I've been going to this place for years. Great food, but the online ordering experience is like something from 1995. Sort it out, guys.
