During my time living in Fleetwood Village on Chillum Road many years ago, I would often treat myself to French fries with ketchup and chicken wings from China Sub Shop for just $3.50. Their service was consistently enjoyable. In 2022, I tried their white rice along with four chicken wings, and it was absolutely delicious. As a Maryland resident, I can confidently say that China Sub Shop is one of the most flavorful restaurants I have encountered, and their menu is a testament to that.
1. The restaurant offers big, meaty, whole fried chicken wings. 2. The French fries are so delicious that they disappear quickly on the way home. 3. The fried rice and egg rolls are seasoned perfectly, making soy or duck sauce unnecessary. China Sub Shop may not be perfect, but it has been serving up delicious food for over 30 years for a reason.
China Sub Shop is the ideal place for a late-night snack after a night of drinks and celebrations. The prices are reasonable and the food is served promptly. Conveniently situated near popular nightlife venues like Adam's Organ, Love, and Crossroads, it's a fantastic choice for a quick bite in the wee hours.
This is a takeout place I grew up enjoying. The shrimp egg rolls are still fantastic—nice and crispy! Although I didn't get my usual mumbo sauce, the chicken was decent. The combination lo-mein was good too; I thought asking for it to be spicy would alter its flavor, and it did a bit, but it was still tasty. Book a table now
This restaurant is extremely dirty and unsanitary. There were bugs found in their cooking oil and small flies were landing on pre-cooked chicken wings that were piled up in the back. The employees were rude and overall it was a disgusting experience. I would never eat there again, it is not safe.

I’ve only sampled the early rolls at China Sub Shop, but they are the only ones I’ve had that taste fantastic on their own, without the need for any sauce. They were perfectly seasoned and delicious. I can’t wait to explore more items on the menu in the future.
I walked in this store at 1:22pm and the store smelled like rotten meat. I walked right back out. Book a table now
