I stayed in St Kilda for a month, just off Acland Street and walked by this restaurant several times. It doesn't draw you in like some others along the street, but I love Malaysian food and my boyfriend was craving Nasi Goreng so we decided to stop in. We went at about 6pm on a Tuesday and it was packed! There were only 2 open tables. We were surprised to only see a couple of staff running around, but didn't think much of it at first. We placed our order after a little delay, but then it took more than 45 minutes for our food to come. 3 tables that arrived after us were served before us, and my boyfriend watched them attempt to bring what we think was one of our dishes to another table, and...

An unassuming Malaysian restaurant on Acland st whose name means Joyful Love and which provides a truly joyful culinary experience. We ate outside for lunch on Australia Day and split two vegetarian dishes, both of which I highly recommend. Kelantan tofu came in a super flavorful curry heavy on the lemon grass and veggies like napa cabbage, zucchini, some others. The Kelantan process results in a really silky tofu that is very absorbent, so you got the curry sauce combining with the tofu with each bite. SO good! You must order the roti which was possibly the best we 've ever had, and a great way to gather up any remaining sauce. Gado Gado was also delicious, a melange of bean sprouts, steame...

We have been here so many times and it is always consistently great food. The flavours are amazing, and it is no wonder why it can often get busy. If you book on the day you'll normally get a seat that night, but if you don't have a booking you may need to wait a bit. Serving a great mix of malay style dishes ranging from fish, to duck, chicken and beef. The King Toh Beef is a must try. Service here is fantastic as well. It's the little things that make a difference from coming around infrequently just to check on how your meals are, to topping up your glass, and leaving you alone to chat and enjoy the atmosphere. If you loved the Chinta Ria in Sydney you'll love this place. For Malaysian th...

I haven't eaten at a Cinta Ria since my uni days... anyways will keep this one short... Nasi Lemak is good but not the best. But still is one of the better ones I have tried this side of town.. Seafood Laksa I quite liked, seafood fresh and soup base very yum indeed! not too creamy and not salty at all. I could eat another bowl. Kuih Dadar pandan flavoured crepes with some coconut sandy thingies. yes I have no idea! I just eat! haha ... served with ice cream. My first time having this. I like! A little less syrup would be good. Book a table now

I had a great experience booking a reservation at this restaurant. The staff was polite and helpful in providing directions to their location. Although we chose to sit inside on a cold night, I look forward to returning on a warmer night to enjoy the outdoor seating and the bustling nightlife of St.Kilda. The meals we ordered were beautifully presented and bursting with delicious flavors. I will definitely be returning in the future.

This restaurant in my neighborhood is one of my regular spots because the food is always delicious. With a variety of options on the menu, I usually choose the beef rendang and chicken curry, which never disappoint. The portion sizes are generous and the prices are fair. The restaurant is cozy and might feel cramped when busy, but that's a small downside for such a fantastic place. I highly recommend it.

Located on the quaint streets of St. Kilda, this Malaysian restaurant offers a small menu of typical Malaysian and Asian dishes. While the service was fast and friendly, the prices were a bit higher than expected for the portion sizes. It is possible that the prices are in line with Australian standards or due to the restaurant's prime location. Overall, our expectations were not fully met.

It gets quite busy here as it is so popular, but have no fear as if you cannot get a table try your luck at Chinta Blues just a nice stroll up the other end of Acland street near Fitzroy St. Every time my friends and I come here we cannot go past ordering the roti with satay sauce. With a subtle spice and chunks of peanuts this has to be some to the best satay sauce I have ever had. Book a table now

Decent food. Nothing special, so I don't think I'd return. The service was very odd but I think it could've been a lost in translation issue. The laksa was the most enjoyable but could've been spicier.
