Recently opened and entering an area with many, many good pizza restaurants. Can they build a regular customer base and survive? The place: Located in a small strip mall on Old Bridge Turnpike near a busy, tangled intersection with Route 18. Looks like they did some renovation before opening. On the smaller side but fine. The food: Nothing really stands out. Pizza is just ok, same for the subs. They do offer Rutgers-style Fat sandwiches, if you are looking for that. I had a disappointing experience when ordering through their online platform; the pizza I received was poorly made and incorrect. However, the delivery girl was polite and helpful. The following day, I received a call from the manager who resolved the issue, and the new pizza I got was much better. I’m willing to give them another chance, as I hope they are still ironing out the details of their new business.
I also noticed something peculiar about their coupons: they don't have expiration dates but instead mention something vague like "for a limited time." This struck me as a cost-cutting measure, possibly so they don’t have to update the dates regularly. However, making customers constantly ask whether their coupon is still valid feels off to me. Goodbye, pizza—it's a no from me!
Pizza is decent. My main complaint (as is my main complaint with most pizza parlors) is the quality of the pepperoni. Their pepperoni is better than the chain pizza pepperoni that most places around here use, but still not great. If they went up to a good pepperoni, they would get 5 stars. So, better than Dominos/Bellissimo/Vinnys, but not as good as Pasquale.

I had a wonderful experience with the Italian food here! The pizza was delicious, and I tried the old-fashioned variety, which was fantastic! The focaccia sandwich was also very flavorful. Plus, the delivery was quick! I will definitely be ordering again!
Great food and pizza. Polite helpful staff clean with a lot if options. It is about time South River got a real NY tasting pizza place.
