I only went to this restaurant because my husband loves barbecue. I bought him a gift card and we went together. He had ribs, baked beans, peach cobbler, and coleslaw. I had French fries and some of his coleslaw and peach cobbler. I usually eat a vegetarian diet with some fish, but they didn't have fish so I had the sides mentioned above. We also shared a grape Nehi soda, which was just as delicious as I remembered from my childhood. My husband enjoyed his meal and I enjoyed my fries, peach cobbler, and soda. The Orland Park location is nice. On Tuesdays, they have a special deal where you can buy ribs for $1.79 per bone. My husband bought four bones today and we plan to come back on another...
I will not be returning to this restaurant. I visited today (1/23/23) around noon and was disappointed with my meal. The fries were overcooked, black, oily, and inedible, making it seem like they had been sitting in the fryer all day. My pulled chicken sandwich was served without any sauce, leaving the boiled and shredded chicken looking unappetizing. The garlic bread simply had melted butter on it, lacking any garlic flavor. I paid $15 for a unappetizing shredded chicken sandwich, burnt fries, and a small drink. The only positive was the Mt. Dew soft drink with free refills.
I went to City Barbeque for dinner tonight. The time was about a quarter to eight. I ordered pick 2 meats which were pulled chicken and smoked turkey. My sides were salad and green beans. They were out of smoked turkey. They ran out of pulled chicken. They didn't have chicken on the bone. They were out of ALL ribs. I usually have pics with my reviews, but they don't have anything. Your name is City Barbecue, right? Well, lemme tell ya, they have no bbq in the city of Orland Park!!!
Recently returned to City Barbeque in Orland Park. Impressed with the updated presentation of the slab of ribs, full or half. The ribs are sliced and served on a platter which makes it easier for sharing. Excellent idea. The ribs are cooked to perfection. Eating them makes the experience more enjoyable...less messy due to the perfectly sliced slab. Can't wait to return so that I may indulge in their assortment of sandwiches and sides. Book a table now
I stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon for takeout. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich, four ribs (they have a special on Tuesdays for individual ribs) and fries. The brisket was good and moist, and they put a good amount in the bun, the ribs were really good dry rubbed and you add your own sauce (sweet, in my case), the fries were unsalted and soggy. I'd get carryout from here again. Solid four stars.
Ok,I've been dying to go to this place for yrs, granted went day after Christmas around noon ordered ribs was told no ribs ? The ordered 57-58.00 dollars in food and find out no ice for the drinks?? Wtf! Gas station right there get some ice for your customers. Brisket was ok, Mac n cheese absolutely no flavor,brisket chili was aweful big waiste of time and sorry but not at all satisfied.
My dining partner and I tried the platter for 2, which included brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and chicken, along with two sides (we chose hush puppies and banana pudding). Everything on the platter was delicious except for the chicken, but the flavorful BBQ sauces helped make it enjoyable. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
I absolutely love their food. Smoked bbq has the best taste and only type of bbq food I will eat. They have really tasty desserts too. Great staff and managers. I was missing part of my order one time and they were so great dealing with the situation. That's a rarity in its own. Book a table now
The brisket tasted as if it was left over from a day before. Honestly the only thing I enjoyed were the hush puppies. Eh!
