£78.00 for a wonderful tasting menu that would cost twice in london! adds the beautiful environment, the relaxed modern of the interieur, the charming staff and they know that they are on a winner. this is a great place that shows innovative, creative cooking art...with all the concrete on taste, (that is, of course, where the concrete should be) far away, “Emperor’s new Clothes”, (a claim that many restaurants have), coast offers food that is pleasantly fresh and exciting, beautifully presented and quite delicious. each cure of the 7-course breakfast was excellent (although we had our favorites, my was the cod, black bomber, coast leaves and garnelen- wonderful the delicate, perfectly baked...
Beautiful restaurant in a superb location as you would expect, on the coast. As a vegetarian it is always a blessing to find a chef who can bring a tasting menu alive so you don't miss the meat in the slightest (but for those...of you who can't imagine a meal without meat, there is a meat menu too). The fish and chips' snack was a fabulous start, with the duck egg course and the later baked cabbage course being particular highlights. Our plates were (almost) licked clean. Our only slight frustration (and it was only slight) was that it all started very slowly probably the combination of a busy restaurant and a new member of staff, so we worried that the 7 course menu was going to take over 3...
Four of us visited Coast for lunch last week and were disappointed with the food in general. The starter of chicken terrine was so so. The fish main was slightly better , however the portion was small and would have benefited from some carbs instead...of a few grains of puffed rice. The highlight of the meal was the dandelion dessert. The cheese dessert portion however was abysmal compared to the detail and work put into the dandelion dessert. The price charged did not reflect the quality and quantity of food received we felt. The staff however were very nice and one remembered from our reservation that we were staying at the Grove, which is part of the same group. Sadly we will not be retur...
We came as a group of 6 friends for the 7 course taster menu. We are no amateurs when it comes to taster menus! We had read the reviews and having had to pay £30.00 per head to secure the booking, we were excited. However...we all came away deeply disappointed and hungry. The service was slow and inattentive, the food descriptions muttered and unclear. The worst was the food which was uninspired and sadly lacking. I know other reviewers found otherwise but we all could not think of a stand out course as they were all forgettable. Definitely not worth the hefty £78.00 for the food and the wine was top price too. We will not be returning. Book a table now
Overpromised and underdelivered such a pity. We expected the portions to be small, as we had visited The Boat House in Oxwich (a sister restaurant) but these portions were beyond small. They may have been suitable for a sparrow. The raw' poached egg in...miso was the vilest thing I have ever eaten...and yes I am familiar with dish and how it is presented. By the time the 3rd course came I was still starving and opted for the cheese, thinking I would at least get a nice big chunk of chees and bread. Think again, 3 tiny mouthfuls with some tiny crackers to accompany them. Think Gulliver's Travels Lilliputian food portions!
We were looking forward to a birthday treat at the start of the Easter holidays before going away on holidays for a few days. As it was a special day we pushed the boat out and paid a rather expensive £75 a head for the...taster menu. After a couple of drinks the bill came to over £200, which I don’t mind paying for good quality cuisine. Unfortunately we spent the next couple of days with violent sickness and diarrhoea resulting in us having to cancel our holiday plans. Certainly won’t be returning or recommending this place to anyone anytime soon.
probably the best location in pembrokeshire, with views of the beach with each table a view. If we had not been with the resty in the night before, we might have assessed it higher. but we had it! the food and the service were ok, but nothing special for the price. on this level I would expect more. that said I would go back for this particular romantic view and the fact that they can go there and back along the beach of saundersfoot!
we enjoyed our evening eating was interesting, the employees knowable and the ambiente pleasant. we would rather have the service a little faster. the restaurant was quite cool in the night we visited, but that will improve how the weather warms! Book a table now
Perfect location; amazing meal, brilliant service; very attentive staff. Hungry just thinking about it. The menu is very exotic and tantalises the taste buds. If I could afford to, I'd go back again and again.
