We had quite the experience with old Cogwebs.I will start by mentioning that my fiance had a serious leg injury years ago and basically has metal knees. He can do most things, but not riding or walking for an extended period of time.He planned a wine bike tour birthday surprise for me, booked a nights accommodation in Clare and after seeing Cogwebs advertising, that included a pick-up/drop off service, decided to go with them. The plan was to get dropped and make our way (downhill) back to Auburn. We were up early and made our way to Auburn by 10.00am, Cogwebs opens at 10.30am. This was no problem as we we starting early so we went to a nearby cafe for a cuppa. Upon our arrival the lady seeme...

Renting bikes from Cogwebs was an unpleasant experience from first to last. The day prior to the rental we arranged to pick up the bikes in the morning. Staying at the hotel opposite the bike/cafe office we noticed the sign on the front door informing us that the office opened at 9.30. We waited until 9.45 am but with no sign of life, decided to call proprietor who said she would be there in 5 minutes. She eventually arrived at 10am saying: “Well, as you didn’t make an appointment yesterday, I thought I would wait for you to call again.” Her defensive tone was a taste of things to come.No paper work was given us and no terms and conditions issued, but the owner did explain that the low tire p...

Stopped by while visiting Auburn. Needed a light snack between commitments so ordered a ham and cheese and salad sandwich. The store is a quirky little place where you can sit down and relax over your meal and a drink or hire a bike and tour the area. They are also the local information centre so have brochures and can offer advice about, for example, the Riesling trail and the local architecture, history, accommodation and bird life. They also have hand knitted craft - lovely woolen items and when I was there, packets of the giant sunflowers. If you are seated outside you will noite there is also a water bowl for your pet dog. It is located close to the Rising Sun hotel, Terroir Auburn and...

Special thanks to the very kind lady who made us a couple of takeaway coffees just as she was closing. We had been touring the Clare Valley all day an were on the way home when we decided we needed a serious caffeine hit to keep us going. Even though they were closing up we were cheerfully served hot strong coffees. Great ambassadors for SA tourism . Book a table now

Decided to stop in Auburn for late afternoon snack while touring the area and after looking at a couple of other places ended up in Cogwebs. . We had a couple of really nice ham and salad sandwiches and a cup of coffee and the bill didn't break the bank.Well worth a visit for a quick snack.

We hired 2 bikes for a day to cycle the Riesling trail over the busy weekend of Easter. The owner was very busy but offered us plenty of advice and nothing was too much trouble. We cycled around Auburn as well which is a very pretty town. The coffee is very good here also

We were on a weekend trip to Clare, bought our bikes but forgot our helmets. The lovely woman in cobwebs not only found us some helmets but also did not charge us for them. Thank you

All four coffees served had burnt milk and residue grind. Very bitter and overpriced for such a small cup. I couldn't even drink it for the sake of paying for it. Book a table now
