We called in today for Sunday lunch drinks, the Sunday lunch was amazing it’s all home cooked food by Jo which is served 12 3.30, three choice of meat available lots of veg mash roast potatoes home made Yorkshire puddings all served to your table the food was also hot something you don’t always get these days. The pub itself has lots of beer choice a good wine selection. Sky sports on TVs Nice welcoming friendly staff well worth a visit it’s a 5* plus from me keep up the good work
Just been for a quick drink in the newly refurbished College. It is lovely, we now have a lovely local to visit in the St Johns area. There was quite a few people having a drink in this pleasant pub I suppose they were like us having a nosey. We are so pleased we now have somewhere to go for a quiet drink. I hope the new landlord settles in OK and I am sure he will have some friendly customers. Once they are settled in they will be serving food.
The staff here are brilliant at sticking to the covid-19 rules and are so welcoming! The people who come in here are so friendly and then the food....bang on pub grub! Perfect pint of Stella. This is defo a top pub in Wakefield! Had sausage mash and Chicken Ham pie (huge chunks of chicken and gammon both gorgeous and homemade, cheers to the chef and all the staff and lovely people. Had Sunday lunch today which was great, £8-50 and well worth it. Choice of 3 meats which you could mix , I had pork and beef. Big plate of food, plenty of different veg plus lots of meat. All well cooked and tasted great and served with a smile, will definitely come again. Book a table now
Pub has had a nice refurb. Landlord very welcoming place clean and covid rules followed. Can recommend the lasagne and chips and can’t wait to try other things on the menu after lockdown. A big thanks from me
Great beer and a wonderful breakfast. Our host, Joven really knows his stuff. We were here for the test match at Headingley, staying 5 mins walk away. Love the electric car charging too.
Lovely pub, great pint of Stella and really enjoyed the Sunday lunch! Call for a pint now and again but after the lunch today we will definitely be back to try more of the menu!
