Strange dark decor and tricky to find location, with relatively limited outdoor signage. This is one of those brilliant Melbourne restaurants where it's largely word of mouth rather than advertising that packs it out. Cocktails are great and well priced. Lots of great palate cleansers to start the meal. The popcorn chicken is amazing and there are these strange savoury donuts that are worth trying! The red curry was a delight and there was a duck flat noodle thing that was delish. The food was fast, hot and flavoursome. Highly recommended. The service however was kind of poor. All the wait staff look bored and disinterested. We had to wave them down to order drinks, then to order food, then...

The reason I was so surprised the food was great here is because I've only ever been to Revolver after midnight to drink. I had no idea there was a restaurant here! The menu has a great variety of dishes. I'm a tad fussy myself and was able to find a starter and main. The sweet potato & cashew dumplings were probably the best dumplings I've ever had. I'm not eating them every week but they were just perfect. I also had the fried chicken satay burger. I'm a fan of good burgers but I've never had one which captures that satay chicken flavor well - and the chicken was crispy. The jug of pimms was delicious too, full of fresh fruit. Would definitely eat here again!!
When rev's was suggested for dinner occasion I was first to question the quality of food as I usually don't eat anything if I have been there for hours. I eat my words and the fat duck noodles any day of the week the food is delicious. You eat in the bar in a casual dinning space, food is reasonable and tasty definitely worth a look for the experience alone. Staff were nice but not that attentive to our table and we had to grab our on cutlery and drinks. Do it for a chapel street experience if you are not drinking I would eat early!
After walking up a narrow staircase and past a few nightclub rooms, I enter into the cavernous hall that is Colnol Tan's. Above me from the ceiling hangs a hodge podge of different light fixtures and the space is filled with a collection of retro lounges, coffee tables and dining tables. There is a bar where you can order your food. The food is Asian fusion and it does not disappoint. The papaya salad and popcorn chicken are very satisfying. The place is dimly lit and they have funky music playing. Book a table now
Went their on a Friday night without a booking and snagged a spot at the bar. The bartender was very nice and took our order the moment we were ready and kept filling up our water despite being consistently busy. I ordered the chicken and lime burger, my boyfriend got a lamb curry. Now, I eat a hell of a lot of burgers and this easily jumped to top 5. It was very relaxed and exactly what we felt like, just as good as their other restaurants! (Cookie, Toff, Magic Mountain Saloon)
Nothing beats eating an amazing meal inside the renowned Revolver Melbourne nightclub. The food is incredibly delicious and very well priced. All drinks are quality and the venue is super cool. It is always busy and at times I've had to wait a while but I come with friends to enjoy their company and have a good time. I enjoy spending time here, I enjoy the wait. If I wanted faster food I would go elsewhere. Totally worth a visit! Even if it's just to admire the artwork.
Good quality Thai food in a retro setting. Friendly staff. Stairs from street level to the first floor could pose a problem for some. Interesting menu. Staff should have talked us out of ordering the fried rice when mains came with steamed/coconut rice. Food was tasty but wondered if MSG was used in their cooking as I woke up with a migraine (msg does that to me) - which was a downside.
We had an event on nearby and chose this place originally due to the close proximity to the event. Once you make your way up the stairs I would call it a hidden gem. Everyone with us really enjoyed their meals, and found the prices reasonable and the environment great. I personally have tried many coconut rice and found theirs to be the best. Book a table now
And the crew usually get it right but not always. A DJ pumps out music in this noisey colourful quirky venue. The Thai food is terrific with many tempting choices. My salad entree and perfectly rendered pork belly were delicious.
