We live nearby and have enjoyed a few visits to this restaurant, but our most recent experience was disappointing. We ordered a sharing platter, which was delicious. However, when we requested a bottle of Pinot Grigio—a fairly standard wine—we were informed that it wasn't available at the bar. Instead, we could buy it from their shop for £24 as a takeout, but it would cost £34 if we wanted to drink it inside. This feels like a strategy to overcharge customers who choose to dine in, with a £10 markup that seems unreasonable. I visited the Corksout over a weekend when busy. I found the staff very hospitable and the service to be attentive. I came as a party of 4 and ordered the cheese and meat platter. This was well presented and well portioned. We all had an enjoyable evening and have returned on several occasions since. I'd highly recommend a drink and snack in there ;
I visited on February 11th. The service was good and the prices were reasonable for the area, but my experience was spoiled by a young couple at the next table who were openly vaping. As visitors to the village, we shouldn't have to confront locals over something so obviously unacceptable. The staff need to be more attentive to this issue.
I had a wonderful evening at the Bollinger tasting event. The atmosphere was fantastic, the wine was exquisite, and the company was delightful. Liam and Susan were exceptional hosts. Thank you!
