Due to a dairy allergy, I inquired with the server about dairy-free options at the restaurant. After checking in the back room, he informed me that the gluten-free cherry bakewell brownie sweets were the only dairy-free option. However, upon inspecting the brownie, I noticed milk listed as an allergen, so I returned it and chose a vegan flapjack instead. Having recently moved to Downpatrick I only tried out this Gem last week and I've already returned 3 times, a clean spacious cafe, following covid 19 guidelines, with very friendly, polite and helpful staff. I had my sunflower badge on for my hidden disability and I was offered help which was great. The food is yummy! Super fresh I recommend the sausage bap and chocolate twist and the latte was beautiful. I will definitely be now using this as my relaxing stop once the little one goes to nursery.
Called in with my husband for an impromptu coffee. Really disappointed with the state of the place. Dirty seats/tables, no toilet roll in the bathroom and to top it all coffee was cold. Two nice male staff under pressure and doing their best but the place really not staffed adequately. People having to wait way too long to be served. I would be reluctant to return. For such a new establishment in Downpatrick it’s such a shame. Costa you really need to be doing better for paying customers.
Fairly busy and seems to have taken business from other local cafes. Service OK but staff look bored to tears and smiling is certainly not on the menu. Coffee good and possible to read the paper in a degree of peace. However all goes downhill once you step on the footpath outside as the litter, filth and dirt is disgusting. Get one of your unsmiling staff on the end of a brush and sweep it up, your responsible now clean it up.

the staff is friendly and helpful. the seats are nicely distributed. drinks and eating are good. Hygiene is maintained. I feel, however, that some of the workers are pushing themselves into the situation, ordering and forgetting at the end. I had to go back a few times to change dinge. I hate to do it because I know how it is to be under pressure. The hot chocolate I ordered today is hotter milk, that is a first.
Great coffee and friendly staff. I enjoy the occasion to relax and read the paper. Comfy chairs and music not too loud. Staff make me feel very welcome and I visit regularly. The outside seating area is not so good, no seats and littered with cig ends. Discarded trolly dumped there weeks ago has only just been removed this needs sorting out.
Stopped off here with my daughter to grab a coffee each very disappointed Americano was weak and so watered down I couldn’t taste coffee and lid came off in the car causing a burn risk as it was boiling and my daughters latte was disgusting and over sweetened and made her feel sick....will never return as wasn’t cheap but rotten!
The menu at all Costa branches is consistent, but this particular location stands out for its spacious and relaxing atmosphere. There is no rush to vacate your table quickly. The food was enjoyable, and its proximity to the nearby ASDA supermarket makes it convenient for shoppers.

This is the best little coffee shop around. It's nice and cozy with plenty of seating. The coffee is always good and they have a great selection of food. I come here often and always enjoy the friendly atmosphere and quick service. It's also very clean.
if they want an aromatic hot chocolate, I recommend coming here. always a great choice.
