I have now enjoyed 3 meals at Cote Riviere and can honestly say it is some of the best food and one of the warmest receptions I have had whilst holidaying in France. We first came across the restaurant whilst viewing wedding venues in the area back in March 2016. Dining at Cote Riviere and also seeing the beautiful town of Brantome convinced us that this was the region in which we wanted to celebrate our wedding. We then returned this summer, the first occasion David and Fabienne helped us host a birthday dinner for my father which also acted as a welcome dinner before the wedding the following day in Vieux-Mareuil. Friendly restaurant with a limited menu presented on a blackboard, which I guess means it varies (which is good!) and is fresh (ditto). We ate there, liked it, and went back the next evening. The - pretty simple - Tomato & Mozzarella salad was brilliant. The mozza was as good as I have had anywhere, including Italy. Just delicious. The Thai riverfish green curry was top-notch too, as was - I'm told - the steak Tartare. 80-odd euro for dinner for two inc a bottle of wine and an aperitif wasn't cheap but wasn't expensive either.
what a lovely evening! We spent a night in Brantome before moving on to the River Lot and booked this in advance as it was Bastille day. It's a couple of weeks ago now so I can't remember what everybody had, but I can clearly recall the setting (we had a table by the 'window' so could watch the boat jousting!), the friendly service and the fact that everybody (5 of us) really enjoyed the food - including my son who normally prefers pizza to French regional dishes. Thanks to chef and staff!
What a super restaurant. It has a really good terrace overlooking the river, covered with delightful views, perfect for a rainy day! The food is a joy, delicious and beautifully presented. They possess a knack of making an ordinary sounding menu exciting and different. This is a restaurant I am recommending to all my friends and one I want to visit again soon. The prices are good too. Not cheap but certainly not expensive. Superb!

We visited as a family on a quiet MondayThe staff were excellent & the service very good The food was average to good around the table and the chips excellent The issue I had was the cost of drinks €3.50 for a bottle of water & €7.00 for a small beer They charged an extra €4.00 for a small bowl of salad leaves after they left them off the main dish It's a shame really as it is a nice place
This is justifiably one of the top spots in Brantome - the location is wonderful (though there is limited space on the balcony), the building is lovely, the staff are friendly and efficient, and of course the food was very good. A varied menu of both local specialities and broader influences (eg when we went we enjoyed Thai green curry).
Situated by the river, with a small terrace, staff very welcoming, food has an international flavour alongside French influences. Choice of 4or 5 starters as is the main courses, chef produces a great Thai Green fish curry with plenty of fish in the sauce, not too hot.Always worth a visit if you are in Brantome.
We had dinner with the family of 6 at Côte Rivière.The carpaccio of salmon was fantastic as well as the tartare the boeuf.As it was a very warm day, it was unfortunate we could not sit outside.Nevertheless we would recommend this restaurant but maybe best to make a reservation to be able to sit outside.

Wow! What a way to end Bastille Day. Wonderful location right on the side of the river in Brantome. Great food - quite international, made a change from duck.
Excellent food and friendly staff made the two evenings we ate there a lovely experience. Definitely would recommend to anyone.
