This was rated No 1 in Countances and perhaps its all relative, but we weren't so impressed. The building, staff and ambience are very good indeed, but the food wasn't so impressive. Our starters of Mackerel and Fois Gras were nice enough but mains of Sole and Lamb were poor. Dishes were too complicated. I can hear John Torode saying "Less is More". Vegetables in a light curry sauce, orange pureed potatoes, mushroom 'something' and meat/fish with its own sauce..... Too much going on. The Sole and Lamb were very poor. My wife's Sole comprised three strips all containing 100s of bones. My lamb was 'scrag-end' rib/shoulder: quite fatty and grissely. Worth a visit and not too expensive but we wo...

Delightful, bijou Restaurant.Just a stones throw away from the Cathedral. We visited twice, once at lunchtime & once in the early evening during our ten day stay in Normandy. It offered something a little different from most of the coastal resort restaurants which we had eaten in for the rest of the time. The young lady who served us was very helpful & attentive without being overbearing. The 3 course menu, different each day, offered excellent flavoursome food, well cooked & served attractively. the paprika ice cream, served as part of a starter , was divine! We booked ahead on our first visit, just as well as there were no spare tables.

I cannot believe that we have lived in this area for so long and not visited this restaurant before. The place is very small, with about 20 covers. We had the 3 course lunchtime menu at 18€, a choice of 2 starters, 2 mains and 6 desserts. Each course was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. The two staff were attentive and friendly.A trip to the toilets was interesting, down the stone spiral stairs - mind your head!I could not fault any of it. Wise to book as the place was full. We will certainly be going again.

Good wine list, good menu. Everything locally sourced and fresh. The menu was delicious and there was choice for vege's too. One of our party has to be very careful of gluten and they were completely accommodating. It was all very well presented, beautifully cooked and tasty. I would happily return here to see what is on the menu as it changes depending on availability of produce.
