A hidden gem, off the well-trodden route down King Street. Not many choices for good Indian food in the area. Clientele included a lot of Indian faces; which is always a good sign. Good service, described the dishes well and guided our choices. Portion sizes suited us, but might feel small to some. Very tasty, delicately spiced, not overwhelming. Spicy-heat available if/when you want it. We will return for sure.
Coterie was recommended to us from Kayla at Gin. This was the best recommendation! We love Indian/Asian cuisine. I’m vegan and my husband is not. Sa’Quan, Jeremy, and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. They explained every dish as it was served. The ingredients were simple but the dishes were divine. We had the ceviche, tandoori ribs, and appam. We will definitely be back!
We were thankful to find a restaurant open on Christmas Eve, as having lamb to celebrate this special occasion felt just right. Although the service was slow because of a large party, the owners kindly brought us an appetizer, and we were eventually delighted with a succession of delicious dishes. It was absolutely worth the wait! We can't wait to come back on a regular day.
I loved the beautiful ambience when I walked in, but the bartender was annoyingly noisy. We had appam, aloo gobi, fish curry and braised lamb shank. The apps and sauces were delicious, the fish was cooked perfectly, but the shank didn't really reflect the price, it was kind of dry. A shame, I'm a sucker for braised meats. I recommend Coterie for its uniqueness. Book a table now
Service was quite slow. Restaurant wasn’t even that full for thanksgiving to justify the food wait times. When the dessert finally arrived, the cake at the bottom was cold and not warm. Relies on covered outdoor seating for 50% of the seating, so you are kind of exposed to the elements. Lighting was very dim and limited. Don’t think I will be back
Our group of five ordered and shared a variety of starters, and each dish was delicious and unique. This place is not your typical Indian restaurant. Our server was very helpful in describing and recommending different dishes as well. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed Coterie and agreed it made for a memorable Christmas Eve dinner.
It was a holiday, so the service was somewhat slow, but our server was really friendly and the food was excellent. The bread and jam appetizer felt a bit pricey for the quantity we got, but the main courses were reasonably priced for the portion sizes. I would definitely come back on a non-holiday.
The dining experience was fantastic, but the service left much to be desired. There was a lack of explanation regarding the dishes, and I had to repeatedly remind the staff about wine pairings and water. Given the price I paid, I expected much better service to accompany the excellent food. Book a table now
The waitress was very good at making suggestions relating to our food allergies and tastes. We loved our entrees and cocktails. We did not have room for desserts. Would love to come back on our next trip.
