The restaurant is housed in a beautiful old building that used to be a bank. It’s very clean and spacious, making it easy to find a quiet table. The service is excellent, and the value for money is outstanding. I highly recommend trying the “dug” (which is really the smaller option for many of the menu items)—it’s delicious! They also have a large selection of drinks to complement your meal. Table service is conveniently managed through an app, making the experience even smoother. I’ve been surprisingly impressed during my visits and can’t really ask for more!
I found the atmosphere to be pleasant, with affordable food and decent quality. The app they offer is fantastic because it allows you to order food and drinks directly from your table and even pay using your phone. It’s a brilliant feature! I did face some initial trouble trying to watch the rugby since they wouldn’t turn on the projector at first, but they eventually did so just before the game started.
We've traveled across the country, enjoying meals at various Wetherspoon locations and trying pizza at some of them, all of which have been quite pleasant and well-topped. On this occasion, the pizza was nice again, but it seriously lacked toppings. However, the highlight was the Wobbly Bob beer we had with our pizzas, which was excellent. If I could, I would rate it 3.5 stars instead of 4.
This Wetherspoons is consistently clean and bustling, even on an early Sunday morning. Like other Wetherspoons I've visited, they really need to improve the hot plates, as it would help keep the food warmer for longer.
