Cafe 56 is fantastic! I had the pleasure of dining there for the first time with friends yesterday, and I thoroughly enjoyed their Rio Grande salad with grilled shrimp. Every bite offered a unique flavor experience, making eating this salad an exciting adventure! The ingredients were top-notch and exceptional! As for the desserts, they were simply irresistible—an incredibly delicious treat! The flourless chocolate cake is so rich and decadent that it melts in your mouth! The owner and her staff are kind, welcoming, gracious, and truly amazing people! I will definitely be back for more of their wonderful food and hospitality!
Attending a popular annual event here in April 2022, cocktails and mingling traditionally began the first hour. Family style antipasto platters, salad, rolls and penne in red sauce were brought to tables by servers for the first course. A buffet dinner with multiple chafing dishes on two long banquet tables were on each side of the room. Prepared meals consisted of sausage, green pepper and roasted potatoes, a white fish topped with crabmeat stuffing and veal roulade with asparagus and cheese in brown gravy. Cannolis were brought to tables for the dessert course. Self-serve coffee was available to patrons on a rear table.
This is my favorite spot for a quick lunch in Middletown, and honestly, in many towns across Connecticut. Sabrina is an amazing chef who prepares dishes from around the globe, often adding her unique twist that enhances the flavors. I must say, I had the best Wiener schnitzel here, even better than at some great places in Vienna. My top picks are still the Central and South American dishes she offers. I truly enjoy the depth of flavors and spices in her cooking, and she provides wonderful insights if you’re curious. And let’s not forget the desserts... I really wish they were open for dinner too!
Hands down, the best. We consider them family. I could write a million good things about this place, but you have to check it out for yourself. Family style Italian, authentic food that Tomas cooks all by himself. Go hungry, leave beyond full with a week's worth of leftovers!

WOW! The food at Cantina is absolutely amazing. This is the best meal I’ve had in a very long time. My husband had the veal parmigiana and I had the gnocchi salimbocca. The portions are huge and everything tasted so fresh. We can’t wait to go back!
Unique authentic cozy restaurant with excellent food and friendly service. The portions are insane! Plan for leftovers. Family style salad and endless warm bread are included. We will definitely return!
After hearing about this place for years, I finally made it there. Amazing food, authentic atmosphere and fantastic service. If getting a pasta dish, consider getting one family style.

The fix was very good and the portions were large. I had enough left overs for 2 not meals at home.
