The annoying thing in Bretagne is that there is a pletora of good creperies and it becomes hard to compare... but every now and then one sticks out from the crowd. For us that was Keroyal. The lovely cottage where the creperie stands is where a Spanish garrison wrestled with Protestant forces during the XVI century war of religion. The place is now blessed with a landscape of flourishing meadows and blue ponds. But that is not all there is to it: the texture of the crepes is a reflection of the quality-ingredients used, while the freshness of the wide range of topics represents the proverbial cherry on the cake. You need a car to get there but it is totally worth it.

We were taken to this crêperie by a local choir with whom our choir was performing. As it was a group booking, they served a savoury galette and a crepe with apples and salidou. They accommodated dietary foibles from some of the group without fuss and with efficiency. These were the best of several crepes and galettes eaten during our stay, washed down with local cider Delicious. Service perfect. The location is semi-rural with a view over the River Loc'h.

The restaurant was recommended to us so maybe we came at a bad time. The menu allows you to create your own crepes, both savoury and for dessert. Compared to other creperies we had tried in the region, the pancake was not as enjoyable (taste, texture). The acoustics of the restsurant make conversation difficult if there are many guests. There is a good view of an inlet of the Golfe de Morbihan and a play area outside for kids.
