We visited friends who were staying in LittleTarrington and they booked the Crown and Anchor for us to have lunch. A friendly welcome was offered by the staff and we ordered drinks and were shown to our table. The Sunday lunch menu offered 4 starters and 4 main courses with a vegetarian option. Our wives both had Roast Turkey, whilst we men both had the Beef (served medium rare),all arrived with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoe's,carrot's and parsnips, whilst the ladies also had homemade sausage meat stuffing to accompany the turkey, and separate dishes of cauliflower cheese,brocolli and cabbage were delivered as sides. This place has vastly improved under the more recent management the forever cheerful Gail and the rather dour Charlie (well he carries the burden of being Scottish). It's one of those delightful old English pubs that resists video screens and games machines. A log fire and lots of crannies to sneak into to enjoy the food. (Hint: Always try the specials). Very good food and nice service. We just stayed the night nearby and they didnt have any food so we walked here. We were happy suprised. We will return tomorrow before we travel back to Sweden.
