After having been regularly and happy for years to embrace the new management/owner menu, I am so disappointed by the variety of choices. I have eaten there last year and the menu has not improved. the focus is very on the fish dishes, which is a scandal, as it immediately decides to eat meat. the scampi has fun every time you visit and is certainly not worth the price tag. the personal is pleasant and attentive, but unfortunately this does not compensate for the bad quality of the meal times. the starters were nice, but the main thing was poor, unless they expand the menu, I would not recommend the restaurant to families or carnivores.
My godparents had their 50th anniversary there and I couldn’t make it being from Canada, but I’ve just been and it did not disappoint!! It started with the best scotch egg I’ve ever had. The local pear and barbecue sauce with it was so good I could put it on everything! Then I had their feathered flank of beef that did not require a knife at all it was so tender. It was accompanied by the nicest gravy, no heartburn or bloating after. Great meal, and the staff were attentive and very professional. The new waiter over from Ardo House deserves a raise! He was spot on all night long and a joy to deal with :
I have dined at this restaurant a few times and have been impressed by the polite and accommodating staff as well as the delicious food. During a recent visit, my wife, who is lactose intolerant, forgot to inquire about the soup of the day containing cream. After realizing she may have consumed cream, she politely asked the staff and the kitchen promptly replaced her dish with a cream-free version.
average eating, poor service, over price and what happened dinge, who liked to eat lunch like a sandwich combo or a caesar salad? I don't want to thank a roast chicken very much. so disappointed come here for years...but will not be back unless serious improvements are made.

This is a great hotel with beautiful cosy rooms, great service and great food. I love my stay every time here and is a great location for walks in the surrounding Deeside and close to town. Thanks to Sarah at reception who has just got it for taking care of customers.
is used to eat cults hotel for something regular. it always has a good choice in the menu. Unfortunately it is now just a choice of burgers or makkaroni. the bark is out of the one we said. beautiful environment but much too expensive.
The experience at the restaurant was great overall, but the bed was a bit too firm for my liking. The staff was extremely helpful in arranging the surprise party that we had planned.
Perfect for a night away with work. Couldn’t fault the rooms and the food at the adjoining restaurant was great! Would recommend
