Headed to a walking tour nearby in The Commons, I pre-ordered the two styles of Wagyu Beef Sandwiches and a lemonade. It was a busy Saturday night for traffic, we were dropped off behind schedule! We walked as briskly as we could, which was a fast 8 minute walk from the Botanical Garden; 5 if I would have left my partner's slow a behind. I was a half hour late picking up my order, but the staff was super friendly. They didn't mind my sweat covered brow or my tear covered face, there were smiles. The man who looked like Dan from Game Grumps smiled and said something I couldn't hear as he handed me a giant bottle of water, a freshly squeezed lemonade and the bag with my order. For a quick weekend dinner, I decided to try Cusser 's l, since my only prior experience with roast beef had been at supermarket delis. After finding a seat at the counter not difficult, as the entire establishment is one giant counter), I ordered a roast beef sandwich and onion rings. The onion rings $4.5) seemed well balanced. They had enough oil to not taste dry, but without feeling greasy, both on touch and on bite. Less balanced was the portion size, which could have been a shareable appetizer for 3. Lastly, the seasoning, seemingly more than just basic salt and pepper, made this quite the value proposition. The roast beef sandwich, called the 80T Style $12), arrived with, as the menu d...
I first heard about Cusser's from their stand at Time Out Market, so when I saw they had a standalone location in a convenient spot at the intersection of Back Bay, South End, and downtown, I had to give them a try. The casual ground floor restaurant features a triangular bar that matches the shape of the building. The bartenders were busy making a variety of interesting drinks, so I decided to try one. The #12 cocktail I tried was a delicious mix of coconut rum, lemon, lime, soursop, Muscavado orgeat, and Li Hing Mui powder, served in a pineapple-shaped glass for $15. I also tried their signature sandwich, the Cusser's Three Way, which was a tasty combination of Wagyu shavings, house-made B...
I have enjoyed everything I have tried at this restaurant, but there is just something missing that prevents me from giving it five stars. The warm lobster roll comes on a delicious bun and is generously slathered in butter, but unfortunately, I found several pieces of shell in it which took away from the experience. It's hard to justify spending $40 on a meal where you have to pick shells out of your mouth. The chowder is quite tasty, not too thick, and the potatoes really stand out. The onion rings are reminiscent of onion strings - very thin and full of flavor. The bartenders are always friendly, and the atmosphere is casual yet appealing with its decor. Book a table now
In Boston for a few days and determined to enjoy all kinda of seafood. Am on day 3 after 2 days of awesome meals. My mom had fish and chips Cusser's in Timeout. Chips was good but so disappointed with the fish. It had the just thawed texture with no flavor. Batter was crispy but so so. Biting into the flavorless fish was a real letdown. Cold lobster roll for me. Buttery crust and big bc inks of lobster. Enjoyed the slightly sweet flavor. Complimented the chowder very well. Chowder the best I've had this week, just wish it was a bit thicker.
Visiting from out of town needed to find something good and local to eat. I am so glad I came here! Asked the bartender for his recommendation and he said warm lobster roll with the onion rings. Grateful for the recommendation cause it was the best lobster roll I've had in my LIFE! Juicy buttery yumminess is all I can say!! Onion rings were perfect!! I may even go back for another tomorrow!!
The warm lobster Sandwich is TOP if you like tender butter lobster i'm about to order another one. The 80T Roast beef cooked to perfection. From East Los Angeles to Boston Bartender makes awesome drinks too !! Will come back again Brian was amazing, I didn't t talk much cause i was stuffing my face, Thanks Brian 8
I know why this place is called Cussers The food is straight-up GARBAGE and the prices are WAY too high. If your expectations are high, expect disappointment here. Saw several good reviews and gave it a try. Out of twenty-six meals that we ate while visiting Boston for 10 days, THIS was the worst! Buyer Beware. Book a table now
The food at this restaurant is fantastic. The warm lobster roll, chicken sandwich, and roast beef were all exceptional. The clam chowder was full of clams and the fall salad was large and delicious. I absolutely adore this place!
