I visited this restaurant for the first time based on a friend's recommendation. It's located in a plaza on Route 34. Just a heads up—they don't accept debit or credit cards, so we were lucky to have cash on hand. The service was quick, and the subs were delicious! We both ordered half subs, but they were so filling that we couldn't finish them, so we took the leftovers with us. They have seating available, along with a great selection of drinks and chips. We spent $23.00 for two subs, two drinks, and a bag of chips. We definitely plan to come back; it's the best value around!
I am embarrassed I have been living in Matawan for 60 years I have had subs from everyplace that makes them. My son Rob came home the other day and said Dad I tried DA Subs. OMG what a pleasure the Italian sub was bursting with meat it was just perfect and the price was much less than other places. Sad news I bowled with Danny many year's ago and never bought a sub there I am really embarrassed. DA's is the absolute best. Thank you Danny. ?
This is a fantastic local sandwich shop where you can get a generous, hearty sandwich for your money (cash only). Their portion sizes definitely put places like Jersey Mike's to shame. While the staff may not appear very cheerful or friendly, you can't have everything. Overall, it's a great spot!
I visited Jersey Mike's in Matawan for the first time today, and I doubt I'll return. D.A. Subs was far superior to them and outshined all the competition.

Very good subs, they where closed and need to post store hours. I went there on sunday and where closed at 4:30. Other customers left too.
They simply make the best subs around. Bread and meat is always the freshest!They always are super generous with the meats too!
I would give up an arm and a leg to eat the subs here. Best subs in town without a doubt
