I have always been a fan of Dagu and was so happy when they opened their Unionville location. There was a time where I would eat there every other week because it was so comforting and satisfying. That being said I decided to try the Unionville location and see if the food tasted any different. This experience (during stage 3 of the pandemic) is being compared to pre pandemic with other locations. This is a new Dagu location in Markham Unionville at New Kennedy Square. Interior is clean and tables are fairly well spaced out. All employees had their mask on. Before they brought us the high chair, they cleaned it. Some items were not available, which was expected but they had all of our favorites. At Dagu Rice Noodle, we tried the Spicy Rice Noodle Soup with Pork Intestine, the Signature Rice Noodle Soup with Braised Bone-in Pork, and the Crispy Pork Fillet with Sichuan Peppercorn. The Spicy Rice Noodle Soup had a decent broth—not too spicy or numbing—and the pork intestine was flavorful. The Signature dish featured a rich, milky broth with two large, tender pork bones, reminiscent of GamJaTang but served with rice noodles. Every rice noodle soup on the menu comes with generous toppings like wood ear mushrooms, corn, ground pork, ham, Chinese sausage, quail egg, and vegetables. We decided to come here for takeout tonight. We like having cross Bridge noodles but frequent another chain and have never been to any Dagu location. Since this store is across the road from us, we decided to try it put tonight. I much prefer to dine in, as the soup is served bubbling hot. But currently, only take out is available. We ordered 4 different soup bases. We got original, spicy, mushroom and tomato. All the soup bases were very good. I personally had the tomato soup base and it had chunks of fresh tomato too. This restaurant consistently serves a delicious bowl of hot, comforting noodle soup. The quality remains excellent when ordering for delivery, as the takeout containers keep the broth and noodles separate. We simply reheat the broth on the stovetop, and it tastes just right. The noodles are delightful, and we really appreciate the variety of toppings included in the original cross bridge noodle soup. We’ve also tried the tomato-based version, which was quite enjoyable. Recently, we sampled their takoyaki as well; it was tasty and held up well during takeout. Overall, it’s a fantastic bowl of comforting noodle soup!
Came here twice (lunch and dinner). Both visits is by myself. Services is excellent here, they come and ask you from time to time and make sure you get what you need! This is a chain noodle restaurant and you expect the same quality like any other Dagulocation. Noodle can refill for free which is great if you are hungry. This location is very clean and table space out nicely! Ifeel very comfortable eating at this restaurant.... Is a feeling but it count! At the end of the day this is a chain restaurantand if you like the taste of their noodles this place have really good service to top it up.
Dagu never fails to impress me even if I get the same dish at different locations. Eating these noodles is eating an experience. It's so satisfying to put the toppings in yourself and the service here was impeccable. I ate in with my boyfriend around 8:30 pm (gotta get here before a rush otherwise you'll be stuck waiting for a table since these soups come blazing hot! Very friendly staff and food was delivered in a very timely fashion. The server cleaned the tables with some very strong sanitizer after every guest. Pay with cash to get a discount!
As for the food, it was flavorful and notably free of MSG, with the tomato soup being my personal favorite. The prices were reasonable, and they even offer a 10% discount for cash payments. Parking can be a bit challenging to find during peak hours, so plan ahead. A tip for those ordering the tomato soup: it might be wise to avoid wearing white or to place a napkin over your shirt to catch any spills.

I absolutely love the noodles and soup at this place! It's the most affordable noodle restaurant I've found, where you can enjoy a meal for under $15, including tip and tax. I will definitely return for dinner!
If you crave hot soup and rice noodles at an affordable price, this is the place to go. Highly recommend to dine-in for the proper experience.
