As someone who's slowly weening myself from a meat based diet to a plant based diet, Dairy Lane provides food that I would go vegan for. This small plain looking dinner with very happy and friendly staff, lit with big bright windows makes for a very good local experience. The place is a bit smaller than most restaurants, so we had to wait a few minutes, but boy was what I got worth the wait. the first time I heard about the dairy lane was a co-worker who also worked part-time in this breakfast room on the popular western dehurst hill. dairy is a small and independent company founded in 1950. They offer fresh and delicious meals with local ingredients and commit to minimizing their environmental footprint and to repay the community. open for breakfasts, lunches and dinners every day, dairy lane has an attractive menu with many different flavors of simple American dishes to merges. the restaurant itself is quite intimate with just a few tables and a small patio. The weekend will touch you to wait a bit. oted you can find free parking on the surrounding streets.
dairy lane caffe is a small caffe in west hillhurst. I recently tried the Vegan breakfast scramble and I wanted to come back to dinner to have the vegan veggieburger! I really appreciate that they highlight which items are vegan and that they have several options available. when I left, it was very busy and we had to wait a bit, but the host was very honest about the waiting time and very friendly. Once we set ourselves, it came out quickly. overall this place a is a great place for veg*ns going with non-veg family / friends because there is something to please everyone.
dairy lane is very busy! we once tried to go, but it would be waiting for an hour to be the peak time. sat on Saturday at 2 o'clock and we didn't have to wait long. the service was really friendly. it is a bit loud restaurant when it is full and busy, but cozy and beautiful all the same. the vegan tostadas were really great. instead of egg and cheese, it comes with tofu and a vegan cheese sauce. really delicious, I ate every bite! *fyi: hashbrowns are roasted in the same oil, in which meat is roasted!

Went with my family on a Saturday for lunch. There was a 20 minute wait when we arrived but we were able to sit outside and we were offered coffee while we waited. The got us in faster than I thought it would take. The Calimexi fries are a must try!! I loved the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. The ingredients were very fresh and the chicken was fried perfect! I usually don’t like breaded chicken but I really enjoyed this sandwich! Definitely will be returning there again with my family.
Currently the top-rated breakfast joint in town, according to Zomato (OEB is a large chain, not a joint). It did not disappoint. A bit cramped but the restaurant still has a nice ambiance. The focus on local, fresh, farm-to-table ingredients, and classic but well executed recipes, is apparent. I’d go back for the coffee alone. Be sure to try the homemade jam, which you can buy by the jar. Eat here. Enjoy!
one of our favs for brunch or dinner! the breakfast tostadas with tofu instead of eggs is to die (and gluten-free as well.) if it is not early enough to breakfast / midday, the vegan burger is great (GF-Bung is not vegan) and their suppening are in the regular vegan and gf as well. would you like more vegan/GF options please!
everything is cooked with meat! we went to dinner here and after that I was really sick, could not put my finger on the ground. we just returned today to find out they have nothing. it's all cooked with meat, not just hathbrowns. explained everything.

Absolutely love their seasonal offerings. Price is a bit on the high side but you get quality, locally sourced ingredients, and unique combinations and dishes you can’t find anywhere else. Vegan berry crumble dessert was fantastic.
