Make a reservation in advance. They don't do Open Table or anything else online so you will have to use that thing in your hand to make an actual phone call to a real person. REQUEST TO SIT INSIDE. If you are seated on the patio, you might as well dine elsewhere. You are coming for the experience, not the food. Good luck getting seated in the main room (that is for the A listers or regulars) or at the tiny bar which fills up the minute the restaurant opens. But do ask to be seated somewhere inside. This is a fun restaurant. It is loud and casual. It is filled with long-time regulars who feel perfectly comfortable hugging the servers, and tourists. That's about it. I saw many people dressed i...

Iconic! Legendary! Hollywood! First Reservations a MUST if you go during prime time. Okay, you might get lucky and if the host likes you, you may or may not) get a seat at the bar and have your meal there. Second Don't be late! there is a 15 minute grace period but anything more than that, better give them a call Third Establishment is not large so expect a packed house. You never know who you will see there Fourth Menu short, sweet, to the point. Steakhouse pricing so don't be sticker shocked Fifth Great martinis Old school style We had linguine and clams 5 STARS), Chicken Parmesan 4 stars) and the Chicken parm comes a pasta side smothered with marinara sauce, Cannoli 5 stars) 1 order fed 3...

Est. 1964- You can just feel the vibes of the famous luminaries who have passed through this Classic LA restaurant. Dan Tana's is tiny, but it's mark on Hollywood culture is enormous. It's tough to get a table here, and It's even harder to get a seat at the bar. Both are usually taken over by regulars. But, with a 10 day advance reservation, we were able to get a booth for my first visit at Dan Tana's, and we had an excellent dining experience. Fried Ravioli Steamed Clams Homemade Lasagna New York Steak Martini's Everything we tried was very good. Dante did a nice job of keeping the Martini's flowing, and the staff made sure that our table was well maintained. Dan Tana's is an experience. Fo...

This restaurant is marvelous. I went with my wife and son a few weeks ago (two nights in a row! having gone last summer and we simply love it! Going to Dan Tana's is like being welcomed home. The atmosphere is both unpretentious and fun, and the food is darned fantastic too. If you want a stuffy, marble, Beverly Hills dining experience, this is not the place for you, but, if you want an authentic classic vintage Hollywood experience then this certainly IS the place for you! Leave your delusions of grandeur at the door and get ready to be welcomed with warmth, kindness and heavenly Italian food. Elizabeth, Igor, and Jose are just the best and whenever I am next in LA I will be going back. We... Book a table now

Pros: Charming place on the inside, old Hollywood family style. Good and attentive service. The bread and butter at the beginning are good. Cons: Completely bland on the outside, nothing to its favor. Uncomfortable tables, poor lighting, nothing to see, not even music playing. Seating on the outside it’s the same as dining in someone’s garage. The menu is wide and accommodates all sorts of dining restrictions, but everything we ordered (7 people) was underwhelming and definitely not worth the absurd high prices. Everything needs to lower at least 30% of their price to be actually worth it of what we ate. I guess it’s so popular for its charming looks and sightseeing, but if you’re looking to...

Had always wanted to go to this west hollywood hangout. Finally did. Disappointing. Sat in a tiny booth for two by the bar with the butts of bar patrons at eye level. Food was very average and expensive. Service was marginal. Without booze, the tab was approx. $250. Had to ask for water refills. If we had been in a booth farther from the bar, it would have been a different experience. This is a spot with lots of regulars who seemed to get very different treatment. Felt like a club of which we were not members.

Dan Tana is the best Italian restaurant in LA! I'm convinced it's not 5 stars on yelp for people to gatekeep (boooo) Our waiter Eeyore was absolutely a gem and made us feel right at home! He was soooo funny and made the experience! My favorite dishes were the Caesar salad, fried zucchini, garlic bread, NY steak and broccoli! The martinis were amazing too! Only pro tip would be that the valet can get full so go early to snag yourself a spot! Amazing amazing amazing and thanks for hospitality

Classic place- I’ve been a time before but I had reservations the first time. This time I walked in and was able to get a spot at the bar- barely. Fun environment. The food is good. I had the half and hall- I actually didn’t know what it was as the menu doesn’t explain. It’s half Bolognese and half Ravioli. I enjoyed it. It’s classic Italian-American. Not authentic Italian. But delicious The host, Terry, is a gem. Great guy. Bartending is quick and makes it a fun evening. Book a table now

The 50yo female hostess on the night I went was rude and snobbish. The food was pretty good for LA Italian food but I wasn’t impressed. Will admit the salads looked really good but I didn’t try.
