Simply amazing. Partner and I attended a long lunch on Australia Day. The place was buzzing and the ambiance was amazing. We both chose as our starter their signature dish, lobster bisque. We savoured every mouthful and couldn’t wait for our main. Beef fillet and seared duck breast. We shared the mains and were in ore of the skill, freshness and flavours of both dishes. Faultless. We finished with the passion fruit soufflé which was one of the best desserts we both had ever had. Came to Adelaide from Melb, and decided to head to McLaren Vale instead of the Barossa to only one winery. After some research, decided on d'Arenberg and absolutely wasn't disappointed. The tasting and views at the Cube were an amazing intro, but the meal and experience at the Verandah was the best of the best. Their Feral Fox Pinot Noir was delicious, which we had A La Carte with d’Arry’s bread, crumbed olives, octopus, zucchini flowers, barramundi and the pork belly. Outstanding, but the best part of the experience was actually Richard's service. Wonderful personality that gave us lots of information alongside some laughs and photos to boot. Every dish we tried, from the appetizers to the main courses (we were too full for dessert), was outstanding. The lobster appetizer is a must-try—I've never tasted anything quite like it before. The Coffin Bay oysters were also impressive. For the main courses, the duck was delicious, and make sure you try the beef as well. Overall, we had a delightful time. We absolutely praise this restaurant for their detail and comfort. Every dish and wine pairing was exquisite, and the location overlooking the rolling vineyards was perfect. There’s plenty of decent winery’s in the region that offer authentic experiences and don’t only rely on heavy advertisement.
