All of the major dining places at Coventry Square are along Walter Road, But a couple of good eats can be found inside, David Dumpling King is one of them.Its not a restaurant but a stall in a food court-ish setting located behinds all the major dining places. Seating is available and shared with other food stalls. While dumplings are made on the premises and cooked fresh, they do sit in the bain-marie until they are sold. However, today our dumplings were cooked to order because we were early.We tried the beef, pork and chicken & prawn - all were very tasty but the chicken & prawn dumpling stood out. That hole in the wall place that could be easily missed when passing by. They are always the best spots and this isn't bad either. Very good dumpling. Perfectly pan fried, and well seasoned. Well balanced flavours (we had the beef- chicken & seafood, pork, vegetarian available). The dumplings are big, about double- triple the size of frozen supermarket bought ones. Very juicy. Definitely not stingy on the filling.Staff were attentive. If we had walked by and not purposefully had gone here then probably wouldn't have tried it because of the surroundings, but well worth it.Cheap eat, we had 15 dumplings between the 2 of us which cost $11 (option for 8pieces for $7).
There are not many dumpling eatery in Perth, this dumpling take away (only have two small tables for dine in patrons) is very simple but quite tasty. I'd tried the pork dumpling and they were really nice. You could ask the owner to pan fry the fresh ones for you but you have to wait for a while.
What I can say... they have dumplings... yes only dumplings but when you try them you just can't stop! Fresh, delicious and lovely dumplings! You must try to become a fan of the dumpling king! ????
