My husband and I could have opted for a full chef’s tasting menu here, but after a week in France, we were a little worn out food-wise and so we had a relatively simple but delicious dinner . (Just a plat and dessert. They treated us with just as much care and kindness as they did they large table next to ours that was clearly spending a fortune. I think that’s always a good sign. We both had a lovely and well cooked piece of beef with an interesting coffee jus, a potato puree with slivered almonds and a kind of grilled mushroom I have never seen before. Super interesting! And for dessert, a lovely caramel, chocolate, whipped cream, cherry delight. The wine-by-the-glass selection was very go...

We sat outside, lovely sunny day, maybe 80 F, light brease from the South. We were met at the entrance of the court yard, with stone buildings of the restaurant on one side and the other being if the small hotel. The wait staff were very cordial and attentive. I began with a thin lamb tartar and cheese crumbles that was novel as well as delicious, followed by the main dish of eggplant and cheese, that was delicious as well as unique in its presentation, the meal ended with a plum souflay topped with aminjac ice cream, all of this attended to by an excellent red wine of the Gets. All had n all it was a lovely meal that will be long remembered and appreciated.

We were staying with friends at a country estate in the region and drove to Lectoure for a fancy dinner to celebrate our time together. The hotel is down a side street, by a magnificent church. We were greeted at the front door of the hotel by the welcoming host, and when everyone arrived we were seated in the beautiful dining room. All courses of the meal were excellent in preparation, presentation and taste. The wonderful soufflé deserts were a real treat, and after dinner the chef came out to speak to us!! All in all, a wonderful time.

The hotel/restaurant is situated in the centre of the historic market town of Lectoure. We sat on the large internal terrace for lunch on market day. We enjoyed the three course set meal which was good value and delicious. Our only reason for not giving this restaurant 5 stars is the exceptionally small amount of wine by the glass. We eat out frequently and have never had so little poured into a glass. This policy lets down what is otherwise a well run and good restaurant.
