When we asked for a change of table so we could sit at the window (which we had requested and confirmed several weeks prior) she begrudgingly “allowed” us to move. That really set the tone. This used to be one of my favourite restaurants until my most recent visit. We had chicken wings for starter which were messy as expected, but we were given nothing to clean our hands with (no wet wipe or bowl of water), so had to make do with the dry napkin. Both men's and women's toilets stank of raw sewage, which is the last thing you want to smell when needing to use the toiler during a meal. Touch points such as door handles have clearly not been properly cleaned in days or weeks. I tried to spend more money by ordering coffees at the end of the meal, but we never got them. My wife and I decided to have a late lunch here on NYE and had booked in advance. We arrived at 4pm and were greeted by Conal who we had previously met in Deanes Queens and he quickly escorted us to our table in his usual welcoming manner. We like the variety when choosing plates so skipped starters and ordered three plates....Roast beetroot goat's cheese salad, aged balsamic....Prawn risotto, shaved fennel gremolata....Crab chilli linguine, spinach tomato. All three were sublime!!! Our chosen sweets were Chocolate truffle, hazelnut crumble creme fraiche....Vanilla panna cotta, cherries ginger snap biscuit. Finished off with coffees, we just loved it all....including the helpful and attentiv...
No atmosphere and very out-of-date decor, this place has a bit of a greasy spoon look about it. Staff were cold and seemed pleased to say, No we can 't do that, no we have none of that left . Food was ok, not what I had expected, as I had heard that Deane 's was quite a good chain. Didn 't really want to tip, but it was added to the bill automatically. Not my type of place, won 't be back.

I went for dinner with friends and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The welcome and service were very friendly and efficient. A nice menu with interesting food. One of us was vegan so the waiter suggested what she could have in terms of mix and match from the menu, and what was produced for her was ideal. my main course was excellent, and there were nice desserts. A great evening.
Last minute booking for early dinner prior to visit to Lyric Theatre. The manager got us sorted out with window table where we were able to watch the buzz on the Lisburn Road. Her recommendations re food and drink were spot on and the courses were delicious … and at a reasonable price given the quality. A yummy experience! Well done guys!! (And the play was great as well).
Whether for lunch or evening meal Deane and Decano must be my favourite restaurant in Belfast. Never fails to deliver with reasonably priced and consistently delicious food and attentive and courteous front of house staff.
