I called into the bistro, as the male worker advised in the sports bar, that I could not order a senior meal here and needed to go to the bistro. I remember in the past that I could. new administration maybe? I. get the more casual atmosphere in the sporty with the sports channels. in the bistro I ordered the senior sirloin, which with frits, salat and I ordered pfefferkorn sauce for only $9.95 for an extra $6 I had added the calamari. great lunch and it was pretty full. that was washed with their $5.50 schioner special by great northern. the service was great of my young female server. the bistro was calm, the sportable was much more busy.
Really nice looking venue but the meals in the bistro leave a lot to be desired. The roast of the day consisted of 2 halves of a chat potato, pumpkin, capsicum and a couple of tiny pieces of cabbage. The plate was layered with fat...from the meat and then a couple of small pieces of meat placed under the fat. The parma was rock hard from being over cooked. No desserts are offered at this venue. The item on the specials board wasn't available but we weren't told that until 10 mins later. Staff were very friendly and nice.
I caught up with a friend at the bistro for lunch at this venue. As a local this is a venue I have dined at many times over the years. I chose from the specials board the scotch fillet and calamari special which was made...more special by using the $5 for a second meal shopper docket. Savings was split between the two of us. I had my meal with pepper sauce chips and veges. This was complimented with a $6 pint of furphys. Rarely have a bad meal at this venue.
Great venue and menu. Our meals were cooked perfectly and looked and tasted great! Service was prompt and efficient. Tables are a nice size and very comfortable seating as well. Plenty of space and nice music as well.
