I have driven by on the way to the Dekalb Farmer's Market and it is hard to miss the Hot Roti sign. Today we decided to drop in and try it. The food is awesome. There are a few seats but mostly people carry out. Bill and I ate in. There was a steady stream of customers the whole time we were in the place. The jerk chicken is spicy and moist. Cooked to perfection. But the sides make the place. We tried callaloo, mac and cheese and yams. Try this place.
I had the jerk chicken, yams and collards. Would go back for the yams alone but the jerk was near perfection with complex heat and seasoning. Brenda had brown stewed chicken which was some of the best I've had. These people know their stuff!
Small, nearly shack-like space. Big flavor and personalities. I had the jerk chicken. My friend had the oxtails. Y'all, go eat here. It was amazing. I don't live anywhere near this restaurant, and I plan on coming back.
