I went there with a friend who's a regular there, it was my first time at a vegetarian/vegan restaurant. I really liked the chill atmosphere, drawings on the chalk walls and tables but the best part was the food. I ordered the Tempting Tempeh and sweet potatoe thai spice soup. Soup was very tasty but the tempting tempeh was like nothing I've ever tried before. The crispy tempeh with caramelized onions, kale chips with roasted butternut squash and topped with spicy mayo were amazing together. The first bite i took, it was like an explosion of different flavours in my mouth. Loved it. I'll definetly go there again.
As the only reason to stop in Hamilton, we were excited to check out Democracy as we passed through :P Fun atmosphere, some solid board game choices! I had the perogie pizza, and it was better than expected. The melt on the Daiya cheese was especially impressive. In my limited experience, other establishments have a difficult time getting Daiya cheese to melt right without overcooking their dish. Well done folks, will be back again :
If you want quality vegan food for a good price, this is the place to go. Seriously, any time I have vegan food anywhere else, all I can think is 'Democracy does it better and for a better price '. You guys raised the bar for what to expect from restaurant vegan food. I 've tried everything on the menu and I recommend it to everyone I know. Keep it up, I love this place.
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere!! Dined with my husband and 6 month old for the first time. Our waitress provided some mashed sweet potato for my daughter as we forgot to pack her baby food. The suggestions offered by our waitress were perfect and the food amazing! We will definitely be coming back soon!

The deserts, the cauliflower wings, The raspberry green tea. I don't go to Hamilton much but this place will be a definite reason I come back. Great service fast and friendly and all the food that was ordered was eaten legit no complaints. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!
Being gluten intolerant and allergic to dairy it was amazing to be able to go somewhere that I had so many options. The atmosphere is amazing, kid friendly yet not problematic to those without kids. A great place for a snack or meal anytime of day!

Fabulous vegan birthday dinner. .we tried five different dishes and all were spectacular! Great service and very accommodating with food allergies. Highly recommend.
